Who among you knew about the live action LOTR tv series from the 1990s?

I'm ashamed to say I did not know about that.

I bet it's still better than the animated one.

I skipped through episodes because it looks far too odd to watch fully but does it just skip from the breaking of the Fellowship to Mordor, missing out all of Rohan and Gondor? makes sense if you don't have the budget to do huge battles - just follow Frodo and Sam.

I had absolutely no idea it existed, how did they not whack that out on DVD to captitalise on theoriginal trilogy? But the bigger question is what the hell is going on with Boromoir?!

I like the way that this thread now has "& The Hobbit" added to it's title. So... we can now add films that aren't due for over a year, that haven't even been completed yet, that no-one has even seen yet to 'Favourite Films'?

yeah ok.

hey Spald - yeah mate, I'll have to decide if I wanna start a new thread for the sequel before 'coolstar/DUMBO/moviestar 2' comes in and jacks my idea.

Guys,

Go to Google Maps

Put The Shire and Mordor into the Give Me Directions box, and select "walking".

Enjoy.

Must not watch! Want to see it first on the big screen just like I did with the LOTR trailers.

On a related note, I just touched my EEs for the first time in a few years. They are stood on top of the shelf in between those two statues seen at the end of FOTR. Got a hefty layer of dust on them. May decide to give them a go this christmas if the picture will fill the tv screen!

Absolutely love this trailer. I am so excited for next Christmas!!! The only gripe I have with the film so far is with the make-up on the dwarves, as they look abit too cartoony in some of the images I've seen but then again that's not really enough to go on. Hopefully seeing them in the context of the film will solve this.

Just from that short snippet in the trailer I bow down to the genius of Howard Shore. Beautiful music once again; I'm loving the dwarven theme already.
