Funnily enough i'm the oppiste on the Pristege, i didn't rate the film that highly, but in a reather duff role i thought Scarlett bought some intrest.  Thats her biggest strenth at the moment, making the best out of underwritten support parts.   She must move on though.

 Hey Elephant,
I know exactly what you mean with the space of her character in The Prestige, she did really well with what she was given in my opinion. It's tough when she's the assistant and is made more of a go-between rather than Rebecca Hall's part as Bale's wife. Both performances in my opinion were good though.

Even though she is a supporting role in Iron Man 2 as Black Widow, her character is cool as hell, I'm still really looking forward to it all hitting the big screen next year. (Keeping my feet on the ground of course! ).

It would be nice if she did do "The Bride Of Frankenstein remake" (all rumours at the moment I know), it's an interesting part for sure and a main leading one at that.
Given hollywood's fixation with dud remakes though it might be one bullet to dodge.
It's a tough call.
I'd still love them to do a proper recut of The Black Dahlia. It's a beautiful looking film, I'd just love to have it all done a bit tighter and loose the voice over from Josh Harnett.

Surely it's pretty apparent from the fact that there's a poll at the top of this thread that this statement is complete bollocks. There seems to be no general agreement on the subject and a not all that massive 31% of people seem to think "hot but not brilliant" (compared to 36% who think she's all round brilliant and 21% who can't understand her appeal on any level).

I think its more that according to the poll the majority (52% at time of writing) don't rate her as an actress, while 67% think she's hot.

Even so, surely if about 50% of people think one thing and about 50% think differently, then that's still the complete opposite of being generally all in agreement.

Oh yes, she's very good too. (And David Bowie, don't forget Ol' Ziggy now! Ha ha).
Rebecca Hall has the more expansive role compared to Scarlett Johansson's part.
Both parts, in my opinion are, done well though.
It's funny in a way it was a precursor to the partership of Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

I would rate Rebecca Hall far, far higher. She's actually quite talented and interesting, while Scarlett seems to just pout at the camera a lot... Vicky Cristina Barcelona really showed how much better R is than S.

 I thought Scarlett Johansson did rather well at Comic-Con, as did everyone else in "Team Favreau".
: )

I'd funnily enough just recently seen the episode of "Entourage" where they go to Comic-Con as well. Funny stuff!!
(Scarlett Johansson has a great cameo in Season 1, one of the best Episodes of the entire Series).
Though, in my opinion, it is true that those events (such as Comic-Con) are a great testing ground for things.
And considering that the poor Cast &Crew have only just wrapped, I'm kinda amazed that they made it!
The power of coffee! Ha ha.
But by all accounts the footage shown is meant to have been awesome and blown people away.

I saw one further still of Whiplash in motion, from the footage... he looks good. Real good.

 Hooray, hooray,

Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut was well received at the LA Shorts Festival last week.
The film, "These Vagabond Shoes" stars Kevin Bacon in New York and was shot in black & white, the film is apparently about a hotdog shop called "Nathan's" in Coney Island, where Kevin Bacon is on a journey to get to.

(Waaarriors... Come out to Plaaayayy! Sorry, the mention of Coney Island always makes me say that, ha ha.)

I keep meaning to go back to New York again and check out Coney Island. My mate told me that the legendary ferris wheel there, (which you can still go on), is going to to torn down soon! I might just have to check out "Nathan's" while I'm there. Ha ha.

"These Vagabond Shoes" was described as:
"Beautifully done and warmly received", the review that I read went on to say; "the characters and cityscape Bacon passes along his journey are colorful nonetheless", (with reference to the film being beautifully shot in Black & White and still being enchanting to the eye. Personally I love Back & White films.).

I keep meaning to see a collection of short films called "To Each His Own Cinema".
It's proving to be quite a tricky one to track down though sadly. Contributing directors include, the Coen Brothers, David Cronenberg, David Lynch, Lars Von Trier, Takashi Kintano, Ken Loach, Jane Campion, Wim Wenders, Gus Van Sant and Kar Wai Wong.

 I saw the comic-con footage of Iron Man 2...
Wow.

It looks awesome, everyone holding up their part by the looks of things. Great stuff indeed!

War Machine and Mickey Rourke were obvious highlights, but the understated showing of Black Widow looked awesome and very authentic in my opinion.
It's great to see her doing her own stunts and getting involved in the action.
Looks like they've done it again in my opinion.
Robert Downey Jr really is such great casting for Tony Stark.

All hail Mr Favreau and his vision!
For Keeping it real, or well at least in the super hero universe. Ha ha.

 Hi there,

Here's some preliminary art work for the upcoming Black Widow: Deadly Origins storyline that is getting released in month or so time by Marvel.

It's got to be pretty cool for any actor or actress to have Marvel specially do a comic for the character you portray in a film.
Something to show your grandchildren for sure!
It's looking pretty good as well, with some surprise characters appearing by the looks of things.

To be honest, I have no idea if I like her. After watching some of her movies, I developed a sense of distaste just by the characters that she plays. She's average looking in my opinion but then again, I am a girl so a lot of people will disregard that input. Her acting skills are alright, though she did manage to have me hate her at one point in He's Really Not that into You (which wasn't that great of a movie.)

Hey there Ezzie,
He's Just Not That Into You wasn't great I know.
It's hard to do multiple storylines and make the depth of all the characters enough for the audience to care about.
Love Actually did exactly the same thing in my opinion, but in an oh so british bumbling manner.
I don't think her acting was bad in the film (HJNTIY) though, if anything it's a compliment if you hated her character because they were all cheating on each other. I don't think anyone is really meant to come out as a shining individual from the plot.
If you're having trouble making you're mind up, I'd recommend to you: Girl With A Pearl Earring, Lost In Translation (I imagine you've probably seen that though), The Man Who Wasn't There, Ghost World, The Prestige and The Horse Whisperer to get started with.

Scarlett Johansson is set next to to tear the roof off on New York's broadway and tread the boards with her Rialto debut in the play 'A View from the Bridge' alongside Liev Schreiber who previosly won a Tony Award for his performance in a 2005 revival of the play 'Glengarry Glen Ross'.
Sounds good.
It's always nice to see actors and actresses getting back to basics and performing in the theatre, refining and distilling things.

Black Widow: Deadly Origins, is a limited run of the Widow's back story that has just been published by Marvel.
It's been received with good praise for it's story and artwork and it looks like they've kept the spy / espionage element right in there, which is great.

This, in my opinion, all bodes well for the representation of her character in next year's Iron Man 2.

Hi Gang... Its Josh here... Now don't get me wrong... she is gorgeous... and i think she is a good actress... however... if anyone can name atleast 5 films that she is in which isn't including 'The Island' or searching on IMDB then i'll let you have that one but c'mon... i know her but haven't truly seen her...

easy!  It's that many of the recent one's haven't been much good and she hasn't done much in them.

I did quite like the first Iron Man, so will likely give this one a try at some point.
