Much like many choice debates that raged in the 80's as a child, they involved hairspray lacker and shoulder pads (the music scene circa 1981) so for those of us old enough to catch it first time round, which did you prefer ?

You can see repeats on satellite as well now, for those not familar....

I will kick it off by contraversially saying Dynasty, it's the truth.

Just for the wedding day shooting massacre alone...

I remember my mum watching Dallas more than she did Dynasty, so it's Dallas I grew up with.

I can remember my parents watching Dallas and my mum Dynasty. The whole who shot JR was a raging debate for months

I remember 'Dynasty' being on the TV but the sound being off so I guess I'll have to say 'Dallas'.

I remember both of them being on TV when I was a kid but I was too young to pay much attention. I remember the hype surrounding the "who shot JR" storyline though. My mum watched both of them. When I got a bit older I started watching Knots Landing with my mum

I enjoyed both shows in there heyday but for me Dallas was the best. TV was never the same after it started. I watched it the longest. I was lucky to meet Linda Grey and Patrick Duffy when they were doing theatre in London and they were both great people very nice.

Dallas!
Dynasty was nothing compared to the majesty of Dallas.
Of course, it helped that my cousin was living in Texas at the time.

I watched Dynasty when I was a kid. I admit it, I liked it in all it's superficial, intrigue loaded glory. And John Forsythe was cool. Already into his sixties when he was doing the show, but he was still looking suave, still on top of his game.

You can't blame Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray or Larry Hagman for being alarmed. No-one in their right mind would stop when "fat, hairy Bristolian" (his description, not mine) Justin Lee Collins is chasing them down the street. Collins wants to reunite the cast of Dallas, and for reasons best known to themselves, all the ageing stars do stop and agree to have a chat. The clips from the soap are too brief and Collins can be a bit coarse, but this is fun, in a vacuous sort of way.
