You voted, we counted and now at last the results of the UK's biggest movie awards to be voted for by the film-going public are in. To celebrate in style, Empire travelled far and wide to bring you exclusive photo shoots with your winners, from London to Los Angeles, from Shanghai to urm Watford. What follows is some never seen before shots from those shoots, some candid behind the scenes snaps and some expert analysis that gives context to your choices.

Good to see props given to Nolan for The Prestige, and Routh - great Supes. I would have preferred to see Bale take away best actor though - made an unsympathic character much more human. I thought this even before I watched Casino Royale the second time and clocked all that 'you've stripped my armour' guff.

I know this is becoming a familiar refrain after award ceremonies but no children of men? And hostel wins best horror? Its a terrible movie and roth is a terrible filmmaker. It belonged in Kim Newmans dvd dungeon. And MI3, best scene? And when is Eva Green going to stop being a newcomer? Has she not been making movies for the past few years? How do they judge this? Moan, moan, moan, yap, yap, yap. What is wrong with the world today...

Is there to be no award ceremony this year?

This is like going back to the first year of the awards. I hope the awards weren't presented from out of a plastic carrier bag (as Hugh Grant memorably described when he won the first award for best Bristsh Actor)

Hmmm. I think I'd prefer these awards to be renamed "Empire Some Readers Awards 2007"!!

Only Empire would give Best Newcomer to an actress who already had two high profile roles and Best British film to an American film, made by an American studio about an American event.

Lord above!

Besides I don't think The Dreamers constitutes a high profile film. Alright fine she was new a few years ago.

The bridge scene winning pissed me off though. I didn't really think too much of it when I saw it. Its a decent piece of action but the car scene from Children of men and various other scenes that were shortlisted were FAR better. I highly doubt people will look back at MI3 in years to come and remember very much let alone that one scene.

Wow, fantastic choices this year. As directorscut said best newcomer for an actress who's clearly already made her mark and best british film by an american studio. In addition to this we gave best film to a mediocre bond movie, best horror to the abismal Hostel and best thriller to an over-rated Scorsese flick. What happened to Munich, United 93 and Pans Labyrinth?

CASINO ROYALE deserved it - the best 2 hours 20 minutes I spent in the cinema last year.

Disappointed about the way the awards have been handled this year - no ceremony?
Will we get an interview with Craig / Cruz etc. next magazine issue?

Well, BAFTA actually did exactly the same thing (although U93 was only nominated for Best British film there) - but U93 was made here, by a British director, with quite a few British cast-members, so I'd say it's as British as Bond.

Also, United 93 was co-produced by the very British Working Title.

As for Pan's Labyrinth, you guys did vote for it, and it did win an award. Too bloody right!

Bloody hell it doesn't say much for the mentality of the average Empire reader if they think that United 93 is a British film, and Bond certainly isn't before we hear that old chestnut.
And for Casino Royale to win best film, jesus christ, do people only go to see blockbusters?
MI3 best scene?
Best newcomer, Eva Green, wasn't she in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven, hardly a low profile film.
She's been about for a good three or four years.
Forgive them father, they know not what they do.

Chris, I did not realise that but isn't still a little much to say it's a British film.
Would you say that The Bourne Supremacy was a German film or The Fifth Element was French. Both were clearly for American audiences despite being produced by companies from those countries.
British films have a hard enough time without being muscled out of the small bit of limelight they do have.

Texas chainsaw the beginning was shorlisted for best horror?!

To be fair though, there wasn't really any stand out horros last year, personnaly I think The Hills Have Eyes was the most impressive.

But apart from that they were pretty good choices

I may not think CR was the best film of last year, but Daniel Craig's certainly a better actor than Bale, of that there's not really any doubt.

Casino Royale? Damn. I loathed it. Unoriginal trash, and the collapsing hotel thing? Shite. Daniel Craig? Fine. Eva Green? Shite.

I think some people just like to disagree. Yeah Bond was a good film. Accept it. I think the results were ok.I havent seen a lot of the films that got awards - can't afford it. I'm not going to get het up either about stuff like Eva green having been aorund for a few years, but It would have been nince for Abigail Breslin to win an award.
