"Damon will play Irish, as he's far too wholesome to have ever been destitute."

that line made me laugh... that was funny.

Is anoyone else worried?

Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Boxing....

Darren Aronofsky is a genius, and has made 3 gloriously glorious films from the ruthlessly clever psycho-drama of Pi, through the artistically depressing emotion trip that is Requiem for a Dream and lately my favourite film ever, the Isnpired, richly coloured magnificence of The Fountain.

And now he's doing this.

Do we need another boxing movie?
Do we need another Matt Damon movie?
Do Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg need to be in the same movie again?

Meh
Its aronofsky
It will probably turn into a life epic.

Hopefully it won't be as lethargic and uninspired as recent boxing films, Aronofsky has imagination so hopefully he won't just aim for the formula and do something that will actually require some effort and do something unique and interesting. However Matt Damon sounds a bit worrying, he could probably use a standard, oscar bait boxing flick right about now

Sadly, you might be right- though there are much better actors to use as a standard than Damon. If Aronofsky wants recognition (of which he has been unjustly deprived) then hopefully he wont do it at the expense of his inspiring vision.

Hell, It's Aronofsky- he's a genius.
At the absolute worst, Matt Damon will be forced to do an interesting character.
