I still have the blu-ray sat on the shelf alongside LEON. oh well, Snake-Eyes' birthday is in a few days time, I'll have to watch 'em both.

Do you have the botched first release or the proper re mastered and re released version? If it's the latter, where did you get it?

Cool! If you don't mind could you let me know what the transfers like when you do? I heard it wasn't that great but I do want Gladiator on Blu Ray quite badly! The recently re mastered edition has phenomenal reviews for it's video transfer but no UK date and the US version is region locked according to Movietyme

Snake-Eyes FINALLY watched GLADIATOR on blu-ray last night and it looks and sounds absolutely superb. Man, I love this film. It still stands alongside ALIEN and BLADE RUNNER as Mr. Scott's finest work.

Watching the blu-ray again right now. All the stuff that followed this film; ALEXANDER, TROY and even Ridley's KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, simply cannot match this classic. I remember I saw this twice at the cinema back in 2000.

If you find yourself walking in green fields with the sun on your face, then fear not, for you are in Elysium, and you're already dead!

Brothers. What we do in life..........echoes in eternity.

Class film.

Gladiator is a another awesome action flick. There are 3-4 movies which are mine favorites. Gladiator is one of them.

I'm re-watching avec the Scott / Crowe commentary. Cool stuff. And the blu-ray looks great.

Re-watched this on Blu-Ray last night. Cried like a little girl at the end.

Great film. My favourite scene is when Commodus (think that's how you spell it) rides into Rome on his chariot with his sister and the camera descends down through the cloudline revealing all of Rome from above. It just blew me away.

My first viewing of this was also the first movie I saw on DVD - good stuff. The Germania sequence has gotta be one of the best openings on film.

I rewatched this at the weekend. The extended cut on blu ray that is. What are people's thoughts on the theatrical vs extended argument? I have only seen the theatrical cut once years ago but i only watch the extended cut now. I prefer the length and the more time spent developing the characters etc.

This looks absolutely stunning on blu ray.
