Scarface and Gigli are both terrible, Revolution is a mess, The Devil's Advocate is a weak hamfest and I really dislike the bloated, derivative ego-wank that is Heat.

i don't agree with you at all, Heat is an ultimate classic and one of the best films ever made and the same about Scarface. and i don't think you should say that about a classic, ok you hate it, but to say that is fucking insane!

Serpico is a fantastic film, one of Sidney Lumet's and Pacino's best. It doesn't quite reach the pinnacle that is Dog Day Afternoon but it does contain some terrific acting from a rather brilliant cast.
Any Given Sunday may be a little bit confusing for British audiences but I think its one of Stones best films in may a year.

YOU ARE A IDIOT! Serpico is a glorious film and one of the finer films of the 70's and Any Given Sunday is testament to the darker side of the sports and is done with sheer brilliance and another majestic performance from pacino. Umer ejaz you recently complained about poor threads you should add this to list.

okay i except the fact you mightn't like the film, but to refer to them as his worst work is ludicrous, same for Scarface imo.

I haven't really seen any 'bad' Pacino films (unless Scarface doesn't float your boat ) as I don't really wish to buy crap films for the sake of seeing how crap they are. But I have watched Scent of a Woman which I think is probably the worst Pacino flick I've seen. It was gooey, cliched and I didn't give a stuff about the highly unlikeable central character. It makes me furious that this is the one performance Pacino recieved an Oscar for too

why his performance was remarkable, just because the film bit does that mean his performance is bad?

Well, his performance was better than the film itself, but I just don't think it was particularly Oscar-worthy. It was a good performance, certainly, many actors will never come close to it, but compared to his earlier work it looks very average indeed. I suppose its just the fact that his roles in the 70's were so much more deserving and yet this good, but not brilliant, role got the oscar.

Serpico is very good. One of the best 70's cop movies. Any Given Sunday is pure dross. A bad film, lazy writing and Pacino on his most obnoxious.

What a paradox! Heat is a classic in my opinion but Scarface couldn't be further away from a classic if it tried.  Actually I'd prefer it to S1m0ne, that one was awful.

i agree with you, Scarface is a classic imo and the notion that the film is "bloated" is nonsense imo. I'm not a massive, massive i love this film more than anything else in the world fan or anything. But i still think the film is poweful and gutsy piece of filmmaking, with a superb lead performance. I love Stones script too.

Oh yes the Recruit is awful and The other film City Hall well its ok but was scuppered by having too many screenwriters involved all trying to get there stories across  As for The Serpico thing Pacino made some of his best work with Sidney Lumet so to dialike Serpico is nuts

Oh I just remembered I've seen most of The Recruit which I found was mind-numblingly average.

And I don't think Heat is anything special either, as a few people seem to be saying on here. I'd give it four stars, it was alright, but its not a classic.

Sorry, but I just don't see it as a classic. Sure, it has two of the greatest actors EVER in it, but that doesn't make it an absolutely spectacular movie. The ending was good though
