It's not a "jump out of your skin moment" but the bit in Aliens where Burke lets a facehugger attack Ripley. When it's round her neck and going for the face, you could not prise my mouth open one millimeter for love or money.

It's gotta be the ending of The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978). That final scene is one of the most mean spirited things I've ever scene. I watched it when I was 7 and scared the crap out of me.

This scared me a lot...and remembering it has made me feel uneasy...

Don't be afraid of the dark...a 1970s TV movie. Tiny little demons pursuing a woman through her house and..shudder...they catch her and drag her into the cellar.
Mr Sunshine in Exorcist 3...the whole scene in the cell....spooky stuff. And...although nothing actually happens that statue of Jesus always makes me a tad uneasy

The scene in 1408 where John Cusack is looking out the window at the man in the window across from him. Strangely this really lured me into letting my guard down to the crazy looking ghost that appears behind him and runs at him... It scared the actual crap out of me!!!

A stand out moment I thought in an otherwise average film.

I'm a sucker for jumping in any old film with loud noises and sudden movements. I jumped in The Dark Knight when that dead Batman imposter slammed into the window of the Mayor's office. I jumped in Iron Man with the opening explosion of the convoy ambush, spilling popcorn over several people. I jumped in Aliens when that fucking facehugger started tearing up the room. I jumped in Planet Terror when Naveen Andrews gets his head blown off (then I mourned the best character in the film).

This is why I can't watch scary movies.

Just watched The strangers. Starts really well, turns into clicheville really quickly. But the bit where the young girl knocks at the door the second time to ask if her friend lives there, and when told she`s already been here and asked that question, just asks "have I". Oh now I didn`t like that, no, not one little bit.

The Orphanage - When the mother is playing the knocking game and the kids keep getting closer each time. Fuck, that was horrible.

[REC] - Policeman gets thrown down the stairwell, or, the wee boy hitting the camera, or the last 5 minutes in the loft with the emaciated girl.

The Ring - Crawling out of the TV. Still refuse to watch it.

They used to play the X-files at around nine in the evening here in SA, but the week of that show they announced 'Because of the graphic nature of this episode it will be broadcast at 12:00). So I had to tape it because it was a school night

Woman in Black (2012) : When the Woman runs at poor 'arry.

The Orphanage : When the medium starts describing the childrens room, with them crying...couldn't handle that.

Insidious: The guy behind the crib netting, the baby monitor scream,anytime that score got going, the mums dream recollection and even the red man behind the mum at the table....which I had already seen several times in the trailer

The Thing: Blood Test.

Gothika: Awful film..but he moment where the girl reverse walks in the background...creepy stuff.

The Eye: At the calligraphists office...the ghost lunges at her. Also the face that goes unnoticed on the train window is incredibly creepy

Dark Water: Elevators scene...had even been described to me by several people, knew exactly what was coming...still brown pants time.

I love horror!
