I'm watching The Undiscovered Country right now, and I've never realised until now just how funny it is to see the Klingons at a dinner table unfolding napkins

Why? First Contact is a superb film.

It may be a suberb film but I just never felt any interest in the Generation cast.

I'm afraid to say it's simply been on my Lovefilm list for the past 6 months and it only arrived today. Thanks to my BluRay drive stopping and me having to do a firmware update though I shall continue watching it later on in your name!

N'aww. Clearly Lovefilm saw my list and sent it to you specifically. Definitely that.

Undiscovered Country for me.

Iman was revelatory for 11 year old boaby... mmmm Iman. Even now she's in her 50s...

I'm back.

A Shakespeare quoting one-eyed Klingon baddie. Genius. Sulu saving the day. Odo and Worf not being Odo and Worf.

Work of genius.

What is the Star Trek film where Patrick Stewart goes on abit of a teer-jerking-wobbly?
Arguably one of the funniest moments in Star Trek history.

My favourite Trek movie has to be The Undiscovered Country, followed by The Wrath of Khan and A Voyage Home; I remember watching it as a kid and going bonkers when I saw Kirk and co piloting a freakin' Klingon Bird of prey!

So what's the story with the final fight in Insurrection on the satellite (or whatever it was, I find it hard to concentrate on that film)? Was all of that glowing blue interior a set design choice or abandoned blue screen effects?

The latter - it was suppose to be a clear struture, so when they looked out they could see the starships and planet and so on. But either budget cuts, running out of time, or too complex a job resulted in what we have now. And it looks awful.

What a spectacularly disappointing explanation for a spectacularly rubbish moment in a spectacularly dull film

The Final Frontier is daft fun. It also has the brilliantly delivered line, "what would...God want...with a...starship?"

Indeed, the story is dreadful, Sean Connery must've saw what was coming when he rejected it, however the chemistry between the actors in it makes it worth watching, especially DeForest Kelley who has a blast in it and is wonderfully deadpan.
