 Dunno if anyone watched this- it's on Wednesdays at eight- but the first episode was really good, even the football stuff, which normally I loathe.  A really good, solid drama.  Although it's close to cancellation in America which is a real pity.  Anyone else watch this? (I mean, there was barely any publicity for it.  I was specifically looking for it.  Ah well.)

Liked the film so I recorded this but don't know if I'll actually watch it.  There are too many other programmes on at the moment and I'm already behind on my viewing.

I enjoyed it. I forgot how much I loved the style of the moive, which they have also brought to the series, looking forward to seeing where it goes!!

Has anyone stuck with this? It's unfortunate if not, because it's stonkingly brilliant. Quite simply the best series I've seen this year, by some distance. Brilliantly written, expertly directed and immaculately performed. I've been consistently blown away by its quality; it seems to have gotten better and better as the weeks have gone by. And it's been picked up for a second series - huzzah!

Ive stuck with it, and thank god I did, cos it's awesome!

The style of filming can sometimes grate, but that's a minor quibble.  At first I feared every episode would end with a Friday ball game, but that's not the case.  It deals with some serious issues pretty well and has some really lovable characters in believable situations.

Particularly, Coach Taylor & his wife, that's a great example of a TV marriage portrayed realistically.  Plus Lyla & Julie are H-O-T, HOT!!!  As is Julie's mum actually.

Glad its been picked up for Season 2, hopefully the ratings will pick up soon in the US though, or it could be in trouble?  Also not sure how they'd cope with Season 3 onwards cos surely most of the characters will be hitting college.

Is it just me or have ITV4 failed to show the last 2 episodes?  This week I couldnt see anything scheduled yet I read a review in the Metro newspaper.

Last week I set the Sky+ but it was actually Police Camera Action that was shown.

Anyone got any info?

For some reason, ITV gave the show a two week hiatus; they obviously had some brand new Police, Camera, Action! they desperately needed to show. Friday Night Lights will be picking up where it left of with the episode Mud Bowl next Wednesday (1st August). Hope that helps.

Think I said this in another thread, but basically (and this is a guess) it's to do with the fact that NBC made the first two seasons, then DirecTV co-funded the remaining 3, so probably the rights are split into two packages.

Loving this on Sky atlantic but noticed this week after 6 episodes there's no more on my sky planner. Fast forwarded to next tuesday night and see a different show, Ad Men, on at same time. Anyone know what's happened? Has plug been pulled?

 I like it.

I like Riggins, the wee QB lad and the ever lovely Connie Britton.

I still think John Grisham nailed small town USA through football metaphor best in The Bleachers. This has potential though.

Matt and Coach are the two outstanding characters for me, love everything about it.

 Enjoyed season 1.

Hopefully it continues.

Some threads more developed than others. There's only really Tyra's mum and Buddy Garrity that I really canna stand.

And Connie Britton is fantastic.

 Caught up and finished season 1 over the last few days thanks to a bout of flu.

Loved the series, felt it was paced just about right and gave you enough to connect with some of the characters, favourites being Matt, Tami, Tyra & Riggins.

Episode 2 started on tuesday night, Julie turning into a right wee cow, but interested to see where it goes from here for her and matt.
