im really really new to comic books - but not the history of the main characters..... so my first delve into the world was to get the entire Civil War series, with other stories that fit into the piece, my word is it brilliant....... what would i need to buy after you think to continue the story up until World War Hulk.

 Just got...



...and Im so impressed! A plots being introduced very slowly as to not ruin the core idea and its all falling into place nicely, answering questions from the last volume and posing some new ones. Also Risso's artwork has improved in my mind, shilouette work is still great but his linework has improved loads!! Cant wait to pick up the third volume soon.

Also got 30 Days on Night, looking forward to that!

Had it recommended as one of the "100 most important comics of the century".  Got to admit I've only just started it but the rather thickly lined simplistic artwork is quite ugly and the story hasn't really grabbed me.  Still I'll persevere.

Very good choice, just bought this a while ago myself. Fantastic artwork, Campbell really knows how to draw those ladies huh..the story is dynamic and very funny too.

yup it's great fun,sorta indy cross with james bond and baywatch.....fantastic stuff,just what comics should be..FUN,i am now a certified DANGER GIRL fanboy and aim to buy more this weekend....e-bay hear i come

I'm a huge fan too man, Bruce Campbell's foreword to the book is hilarious as well and J. Scott draws him extremely well.
I just bought the Danger Girl - Back in Black tpb last week too, not up to the level of Campbell''s own efforts, but Nick Bradshaw's pencils are dynamic and cartoonish, pretty good stuff.

what would you recomend to read after the collection,so as not mess up the timeline?is there a particular order or can i just dive into any graphic novel

It didn't get any better.  At least it was only £5 off ebay.  Where it shall be returning very soon.



A bit early to really see where this series is going but it looks like they plan to kill off a few more secondary characters in the near future.   There also seems to be some conflict with the events of 52 with continuity being a bit messed up.

Nothing ever falls into place with this bloody comic. Its still bloody brilliant though.

Finally picked this up (unfortunately without the bizarre quote) and was pretty let down. I had high hopes due to the praise lavished on it but I had to dig very hard to find anything that really stuck out as ground breaking. The overall story was good but it badly needed chapter breaks to fix its erratic timeline, it was hard to tell if the whole thing took a week or a few hours. Also the characters were as flat as pancakes.

I really didnt get on with Ben Templesmiths artwork. The cover and a quick flick through the book caught my attention when I first picked it up in the shop but when I started reading it I realised just how shoddy it is, Im all for loose style but underneath his 'Photoshop Tricks 101' Templesmiths lineart was terrible, Ive seen scamps with more skill and verve.

Stupidly I bought the sequal before hand (I didnt read it first, I like to read stuff in order) so I'm going to give the series a second chance so I really hope it tightens things up a bit.

I also picked this up yesterday and dont have much to say apart from its another great volume, a bit short maybe but still solid as a rock, if anything Risso's even tightened up his work, its subtle but compare it to volume 1 and its all there. Plotwise, Im getting the feeling that 100 Bullets is a bit like Lost, for every plot thread tied up 2 more loose appear. Im looking forward to the fourth.

So far, so good. Although there is 15 volumes, and to buy them all at £6.99 would come to about £104.85...

I'm up to volume 8 now, so I'm about half way through. And yes, its fantastic. But speaking of volume 8, what the fuck? Definatly the most disturbing and fucked up thing I've ever read. No wonder its rated M!

Dang, wasn't sure if I was right about what that volume was and now I'm re-reading the entire thing again...for shame.
Yes, that volume is quite extreme...probably the most disturbing one of the series.

Yeah, Blitz Royale or something? I wonder if its better than the film sequel? Probably!

Comparing the first film and manga is quite hard though, as while the film is quite understated and subtle, the manga is very IN-YOUR-FACE  and OTT. I'm only half way through but so far I see it as an excellent companion piece to Fukasaku's movie.

True, it's very OTT but that's one of the things I love about it (even if some of the kids can shrug off the odd bullet or ten and manage to keep going for a while).
Apparently, the manga sequel takes some elements from the second film but (hopefully) won't  be as bad and I'll be quite a while before it's finished and doesn't have the same artist. Oh well...
