That's a good one but I'm biased as I am something of an admirer of James Robinson's work (other than the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen film script).

And with Kazuya nice to see Fell on the list.  (SPOILER) Still shaping up very well and nice to see that Ellis has shown he is not infallible and can let pride cause his defeat.

Am I the only one who's a little miffed that they've relaunched the comic? It's the most cynical marketing move invented. I'm thinking it may act as a good jumping off point for me. I don't really feel like 'starting again' if you know what I mean.

...and was well impressed. I knew most of Wolverines past from the marvel website and they've tweaked it here but its still a cracking (and incredibly tragic) read with some truely great imagry from Kubert. Many Wolverine fans were wary of this book and I can understand why but its an absolute cracker and the team behind it have done the Marvel legend justice.

This on the other hand...



Started so well and trundled down a steady gradient to a ropey plot, disjointed time lines. Also the suit got some weird make over on the face which made it look like a kids toy rather than a war machine. A real shame.



Its true that the suit needed an update and for the most part I think it looks sweet but the helmet just doesnt stick with me for some reason.

On another note. I bougth this today (I know I'm really far behind).

 
Yet another storyline of Yorick screwing things up, but I loved Beth's dream in the outback. Can't wait to see more of her. Oh, and the title didn't lie! There was girl-on-girl action.

Ghost Rider issues 5,6,7,8,9 and they were good except issue 6 and 7 (hell to pay part 1 and 2) the artwork was really crap.Issues 8 and 9 were good because jack O'lantern is in it and its a sleepy hollow type storyline.

I would consider it spotty in that at least half maybe more had good strong storylines but a third of those were tied to poor art.

Well, there are a couple of good stories in Batman: Black and White 2, but I would not buy the graphic novel. That said I don't buy many. Has to be something I would have to really, really enjoy for me to buy it. Especially as my local libary has a good selection of graphic novels.

It works very well as a stand alone story although there is a short in Astro City Life in the Big City which gives a little background but it is compltely unneccesary to have read it.  Hope you enjoy it as I found it a very good story and probably the best that Astro City has had to offer (although The Tarnished Angel is close).

I've got myself on a bit of a rant but I hate it when comics start so well and die through what seems like laziness, it seems to be a bit of a habit for Marvel lately.

I totally agree with you. Laziness seems to be the a major problem at "the house of ideas". I hardly buy any Marvel titles anymore.

Quantum Leap ultra rare issue one...

A replica of the very first Beano and that's rare too!

Oh, saying that I do buy the new Buffy comics and I've just bought Mary Jane loves Spider-man graphic novels mostly because I dig the drawings! Haven't read 'em yet though...

Question... what's the deal with the civil war comics? Any good? There's so many of them I don't know what order they come in.  I also wanna know if anyone's read Runaways and is it worth buying in a graphic novel?
