Just watched ep3.  Much better than the previous episodes.
Yep!

Michelle Ryan is getting more into the swing of things. Her physical scenes work really well, and her acting style is obviously changing - so much so, by week six she'll be able to do the non-blinking steady-face that her colleagues have been raised with!

Honestly, it seems to be that simple...

Don't blink unless you're emoting.
Hold your head in the same position.
Move your mouth a little too much when you talk.

Both Miguel Ferrer and Katee Sackoff  are experienced actors on US TV.
Ms Ryan cut her teeth on Eastenders, and spread her wings with Jekyll.

It'll take a little while for her to find the groove that has served Hugh Laurie, Ian McShane and Joely Richardson so well!

And let's not forget the rest of the new influx of "Brit actors in US dramas" which includes Kevin McKidd and Damian Lewis! Why can't they be ex-pat Brits and keep their accent?!

Anyway, did anyone notice when Will's father escaped from the 'thousands of feet below ground prison'?! In episode 1 he was behind bars. Suddenly he was out, with (unless I missed it) no explanation as to how he achieved this remarkable feat!

And did anyone else recognise him as the undead whispering doctor from Medium? He does nasty very well. I'm going to guess Gimli will recognise him, as he's pretty much the only one who watches more TV than I!!

After a middling first few episodes this is definitely improving. After spending 4 weeks working out how to explain to Jamie's sister why Jamie keeps drifting off all the time, they've finally realised this is not the point of the show!!!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!

Ep. 5 was excellent, reminded so much of Alias at its best. When Jamie's asked "how's your British accent?", the look on her face is classic Liked Nathan's thinly veiled jealousy as Jamie gets picked up in the bar. Proves also they don't have to permanently rely on Katee Sackhoff to carry the show either.

So I have a question, when Jaime was on the phone to the tech guy, why was she still using her English accent, I mean I know she's English in real life, but it just seemed a bit weird. And I know the mention it and everything, but come on, lame excuse,

Thought that this episode was ok, but nothing special.  I love the tech guy - he should definitely get a bigger role.  He was the only person that made me laugh.  I thought the CIA guy was great; the chemistry between him and Jaime was good (although i admit that i fast forwarded through some of their scenes together).  MR gave a good performance but i'm still not really rooting for Jaime.  This episodes was lighthearted and fun - i think they should stick with that.  MR is good when she doesn't have to play tough.  Not bad a episode.

I wonder what they will do with Becca?  In this ep we didn't have a scene with Jaime explaining that she would be away for a while.  Are they planning to write Becca out?  It kind of looks like it...

I have read that the figures for ep5 were 7.7, it's dropped nearly a million viewers in the past week - not good.

Oh and there have been more changes behind the scenes....

As someone who downloaded the first 5 episodes and watched them right through, this show while not amazing me was passable in a ho hum kinda way.

Anyone explain to me why I cant find any episodes online from 5 onwards?

Because ep 6 airs tonight in the US and will therefore be "available" tomorrow.

Thought this ep was awful tbh.  Shame really because it started off with so much promise.  I loved the meeting between the baddie and the Berkut group agents.  I actually thought that this ep might have an edge to it - i was wrong.  Instead we got a rather silly love story.  I'm all for Jaime having relationships but it gets silly when it interferes with her job.  I mean why did her and the CIA agent stop to kiss when they were chasing the baddie?  Put it this way by the end i was fastforwarding.

As for Becca there seems to be no point in having her character in the show.  Her storylines and Jaime's are not even connecting.  Either do something with Becca or don't bother at all.

The ratings are down to 6.44 million viewers.   http://seat42f.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1115&Itemid=79

According to various articles due to the writers strike, production on BW is due to end soon.

I've heard it's coming to ITV2 or 3 - apparantly.

Last weeks ep was pretty good.  For the first time the plot actually made some sense and kept me hooked.  MR was pretty good and for once her acting was not in the least bit flat.  Seems like she is actually growing into the part.  My only gripe is the relationship between her and Tom.  Why have her call him when she's on a mission?  I think they need to get rid of Tom - the love story between them is just getting sillier.

Still this ep was an improvement over the previous episodes - lets hope the writers can keep this up.

I thought it was meant to start January on ITV 2 but I've got next weeks tv guide and it's not listed.

Iv watched the first few episodes of this on TV3,and i have to say im not impressed. The show is very average and what really lets it down is the (mis)casting of Michelle ryan.Lets face it,SHES CRAP! This girl just cant act and isnt very good looking(am i the only one who thinks shes just a little overweight for this part?)

Was there some shortage of american actresses when the producers were casting for this series? And they decided to cast an EASTENDERS actress? What were they thinking? Surely some better(not to mention better looking) actresses were up for the part?

Katee sackhoff is the only redeeming aspect of this series and she steals every scene shes in.Miguel ferrer makes me laugh with his ''Arvin sloane from Alias'' impression!

Perhaps they should have cast someone like Eliza dushku as Jamie summers instead. Now THAT would make the show a whole lot more enjoyable!

Sorry, but whenever i see Michelle ryan acting ''tough'',i laugh my arse off.Katee sackoff just blows her off the screen.

The whole show comes across like a lame Alias clone. We have the secret government agency involved in covert ops to fight terrorism,we have the young woman employed as a spy who is sent on missions by the Miguel ferrers Arvin sloane wannabe,we even have the goofy comic relief character outfitting the gadgets, need i go on?

Cancel this show now and send Michelle ryan back to depressing soap operas where she belongs!

Darth Silas - i actually don't think MR is that bad.  I think the main problem with this show has been the bad writing and the constant shuffles of showrunners behind the scenes.  Leading to plot inconsistancies etc.  In Michelle's defence she can only work with what she has been given and i think the role of Jaime is not that well written.

Sarah Corvus's character came with an interesting back story.  The problem with Jaime is that we know so little about her.  The producers tried and failed to portray her as a bad ass character; acting tough is not Michelle's strong points.  But i don't believe her performance has been that bad...but the part is not well written.

BTW - i think her body shape is perfect for the part.

Just to let everyone know that (according to what i read in the Guardian a few weeks back), BW should start this month...still w8g...

Its official.Bionic woman has been cancelled.

Cant say ill be sorry to see it go.Amongst the shows problems(poor scripts, dodgy fx),the biggest was Michelle ryans miscasting. The character is supposed to be street smart and tough and she just wasnt convincing in the role. The fact that Katee sackhoff blew her off the screen didnt help matters.

Yesterday i read an interview with MR in Saturday's Telegraph mag.  ITV2 will be showing BW from March 11th - Tuesday.  IDK if i will be watching it again tbh...i may watch the first 5 eps as Katee Sackoff was brilliant in them.

BTW - MR is back in the UK.  She attended Elle style awards and was a presenter at the Brits.

Here's the link to the interview: Michelle Ryan: they have rebuilt her

Bionic Woman
Tuesday 11 March
9:00pm - 10:00pm
ITV2
1/8 - Pilot

Remakes are dangerous things, even if the original wasn't that special, but this new version of the 70s classic, in which Jaime Sommers (Lindsay Wagner) had her shattered body rebuilt courtesy of cyber-surgery, gets off to a cracking good start. In only slightly more than 15 minutes former EastEnder Michelle Ryan gets more implants than Jordan and can suddenly run faster than Superman, as well as kick ass all over the place. One of those places is on a rain-swept rooftop where she fights another, earlier bionic woman. No, it's not Wagner, but an uber-villain played by Katee Sackhoff, who's well known to Battlestar Galactica viewers. As RT went to press there had been no official announcement about the series' fate following the strike by the Writers Guild of America.
