Yes she has Hex. She came over and complained about the old mould made her allergies flare up, because London is an old city. Surprise surprise.

....???

That's it. That's the point her crazy made my brain melt. SCIENCE FAIL for a start; am I missing something major here, or can you just not get "old" mold because mold, being a living thing, is thus like all other living things in possession of a finite lifespan that means it will not age beyond a certain point?

Also, London is old? Gee, really? Like over a hundred years?! Woooooooooow, LKH. I think you mean London is super old. It is over A THOUSAND FUCKING YEARS OLD, after all, so perhaps to an American this is an incomprehensibally long period of time that can only be reduced into the term "old".

I'm glad her visit to our lands was so rewarding.

I'm betting the English Fey/Fae/Fay/Insert Pretentious Hateful LKH Variant Spelling Here won't have the usual Spike knock-offs (I mean really, honestly, no one was fooled, surely? We all saw that guy as a desperate William the Bloody wanna-be, right?!) - I'm guessing we'll have a plethora of attempts at posh-types.
That will probably hail from Richard Curtis Land.

I'm beting they are all as you say Richard Curtis Posh type fey who take tea because it's civillised or the "Cor blimey 'ello Mary Poppins" type fey. because you know that is the only two types of people that live in England.

All English people also live in stately homes, despite having no clear means of financial support.

Seeing as I am such a kind, generous soul (and not in any way because I lost another Scrabble game), I have decided that you good people deserve a little taste of Skin Trade
To this end, I have produced a reading of the main sex scene, which I present here for your edification.
Caution: This video contains an atrocious attempt to sound like a Shakespearean actor and a really, really bad sex scene (being read out. I'm not attempting to recreate it or anything). And a foolish hat.
It's also 25 minutes long.
You have been warned.

Cheers, Harley!
Nice to know some good has come of my inability to win at Scrabble.
I'll win a game one of these days...

Any time Flange. Oh meant to say your hat reminded me of one that Harry Dreseden would wear.

A friend I allowed to see this video said I looked like a younger Terry Pratchett in that hat.
Was actually a cowboy hat I bought at least 16/17 years ago.
It definitely worked out as a better buy than the ill-advised cowboy boots I got around the same time.
I thought they were cool but I rarely dared to wear them out cos the noise from the heels made it sound like I was wearing stilettos. They weren't quiet!

A young Terry Pratchett works as well.

I definately see the Pratchett homage!

And see? This wasn't as harsh a forfeit as you were expecting, was it? Perhaps this'll make you more merciful when I next lose.

And perhaps the next LKH book will actually contain a real plot.
Yeah.

Apparently the Anita Blake tv show has been stopped in its tracks yet again. LKH has claimed she pulled out of the deal because she didnt want to comprimise her vision. HA! Meaning they wanted to add a plot and possibly more women to the show.

Theres also blog where she complains about recent TV shows being made of the genre she "pioneered". A clear dig at True Blood, Harry Dresden, Blood Ties, Vampire Diaries. (the last two predate LKH I believe)

I havent looked for much LKH fodder in a while but its nice to see she is still an insane bitch.

It's better thanks. Although painkillers have obviously taken their toll as I succumbed and bought Swallowing Darkness.

The way I see it is I can blame it all on the morphine and then when I instantly forget it I can blame it on the painkillers and deny it all.

It's always good to be able to deny things.
The trick is to not leave any evidence that can be used against you. Like a post on a web forum.

Blimey Funky I've heard of Morphine doing some fucked up things to people, but buying swallowing darkness is the most fucked up of all.

It's quite incredible the things that people have always secretly wanted to do and have just waited for a convenient excuse.

And fear is brown?

There's no shame in wanting to read an LKH book. Alright, there is a bit, but it's okay, you're amongst friends here, we won't judge you for it!

No, no judging going on here.

Anyway's Funky, what is the book like? Is it truly horrible?

Well I'm impressed that I'm half way through and there's only been one sex scene. I'm sure that has to be a record for her. Other than that I'm not quite sure about what's actually happening. Apart from the Goddess turning up at every possible opportunity, scattering rose petals and making the place smell like a pot pourri bomb has hit, I'm not sure whether anything has happened.

Sounds as strange as her other books. I've got to admit I re-read the Merry Gentry books recently and didn't find them as bad as Anita Blake.

My theory if you can call it that, is that with Merry she was suppossed to be trying to get pregnant so the loads of sex fitted in with the story. With Anita where she started off as Chaste and pureish the whole lots of sex, with diffrent partners never sat right.

That's about the sum of it. Problem is, now Merry IS pregnant it seems that Hamilton doesn't know what to do with her!
