Nice to see him come out and support it (lol, I said come out). I'm not sure what it will do in the short term but it will certainly matter in the future. I just hope it doesn't affect his re-election chances

If it is it will look very bad for Obama with him being a constitutional scholar; if they were'nt such a ball-less party the democrats could then force the republicans to suggest another option. The human windsock/Romney will also be in a bind as it's similar to what he initiated in Massachussets.
Apparently many healthinsurance companies stock went up after passing of the bill, it would be hilarious if it wend down because "deepest, darkest socialism " was rejected.

The decision seems to be this – Roberts says the court Can’t force you to buy health insurance. But they can tax you for not having it.

 It was upheld! CNN and Fox both reported that it was struck down initially, then had to correct that a few minutes later.

Big day for Obama. Terrible day for Romney (though it WAS his idea, I doubt that'll give him much comfort!). A lot of people predicting its demise seemed to base it on the Justice's thorough grilling of the law from a few months ago though that was always going to be their job anyway, to properly vet the law and ascertain all its interpretations and intricacies. One of the more 'liberal' Justices sided against the law while George W. Bush's appointee upheld the law.

Pretty much everyone predicted the opposite was going to happen. Should be interesting to see how this plays out in the election.

Is there any wecsite I can go to with an articulate arguement against it?
Ideally someone you can make the case without using the words socialist, nazi, dictatorship or antichrist.

Sounds funny but I tend to think if you get a good vibe from looking at a candidate then trust your hunch. Obama v McCain, Obama looked like a nice guy, McCain looked like an old red neck with an agenda on his mind hehe. In short McCain looked a bit 'dangerous' if put in power, especially with his sidekick Palin, you could sense the pending danger.

Anyway that's my simple view, I'm British and I know nothing of US politics honesty is the best policy

Personally he may be ok (although a bit of an idiot) but politically he comes across a bit meh.

To be honest though, why should they care? Do we care what Americans think of our politicians? I don't think I've ever thought about how our politics are discussed in America.

At the end of the day, it's the Americans that have to vote and live under the laws that their chosen government passes, it has no effect on us whatsoever. Calling most American's self-absorbed and ignorant because they don't know what people outside of their country think about their politicians is incredibly insulting, you really should think about what you're saying there Spald.

He's a CEO masquerading as a politician, a rich kid who's spent most of his life downsizing companies and sacking workers whilst at the same time championing the elite and powerful. He stands for the banks and de-regulation while claiming to be "one of the people" and would sell his Gran to get votes.

As for the ignorant comment I did correct that upthread and stand by it. Claiming many Americans are ignorant and self-absorbed is no different to saying many British are ignorant and self-absorbed, both are true.

If I'm wrong then explain how Bush got re-elected? Or how Romney is only a few points behind Obama?
