Hooray!

Jonson, I would write a new poem, but I wouldn't want to undermine the sheer intrinsic beauty of the last one.

Besides, there's only so much than rhymes with Barrowman.

Those of us who were around during the halcyon days of the Shark Attack 4 script that some of us (most of whom are no longer on the forum, or at least don't post in this thread) threw together, may remember a scene I wrote where a kid's party was interrupted by a shark coming down from the sky and landing on/eating one of the kids.

...just saying...

Had some decent CGI and quite a lot of practical effects (rubber shark...) which were welcome.
Fell asleep towards the end though and can't be arsed sitting through it again.

I just bought Shark In Venice today for £1.50 starring Stephen Balbwin. I'm hoping it will be awesome in a Shark Attack 3 kind of way. But I have my doubts... Though I thought the trailer was alright!

Anyone seen it?

Yeah, Shark in Venice is pretty rubbish, even when taken as dumbass Z grade trash. As most of these latter day shark cash-ins are.

The more of them that come out, the more I think Shark Attack 3 (and to a [much] lesser extent Shark Attack 2) was lightning in a bottle.

It'd be interesting to see what would be "the best" of the post-Jaws shark/aquatic horror movies. Deep Blue Sea would probably take the top spot, but there's countless others.

Deep Blue Sea was good fun, and I am quite fond of Open Water, but really Jaws 3D takes No.2 spot for me after Jaws, for nostalgic reasons mind.
Another one though, which deserves an honourable mention, is She Gods of Shark Reef.
You know, that one.
I mean, this one:-

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052188/

Don't tell me you haven't seen it.

I haven't....

For me - and this would be controversial - it goes Jaws - The Revenge, Jaws 3D and finally Jaws 2. As you say, though, I think this would be more for nostalgic reasons!

Deep Blue Sea is good fun. Silly, but fun.

Night of the Sharks is another one which was a favourite.

I'll have to think about it.

Controversial? No shit!! JAWS the fucking REVENGE?!?!?!
I saw Jaws 3D at the cinema, an excited 10 year old obsessed with sharks. I can remember it is as clear as day. Loved it, and I still watch it now and get thta same happy feeling, probably more than any other film, so for that reason I can't fault it. I'm sure you have similar feelings for JTR Daz, but hey, you're certifiable Daz, you know that?

I think we need a big discussion here on shark films. I think we need to look to take talk of sharks and The Barrowman into it's next stage. We've hit the magic 200 page mark and need the next level.
This Shark Attack 3 thread needs to start thinking it's the Shark Attack 3 of threads. And there's a modern tongue-wtister for you.

And don't worry Daz, I haven't seen She Gods of Shark Reef either. Although it's on my list.

We need a definitive list. I'm sure that, while Wikipedia will give us a great deal of these titles already, we all know that Wikipedia's not the be-all and end-all of information sites.

I'm sure we could all make a massive great list of these films between us!

Although Jaws 2 is, technically, the best sequel in terms of quality, 3 also has to be my favourite for sheer entertainment purposes. Jaws is, obviously, THE best.

Agreed. So let's just start - right from mainstream A-grade (so Jaws) down to the worst, with the only caveat being it must feature sharks in some way. Animations can also be included.

I'll start with a few:

Jaws
Jaws 2
Jaws 3 (3D)
Jaws the Revenge (Jaws 4)
Shark Attack
Shark Attack 2
Shark Attack 3: Megalodon
Great White (AKA The Last Shark)
Megashark Vs. Giant Octopus
Sharktopus
Dinoshark
Shark (as in the infamous Sam Fuller flick with Burt Reynolds)
Deep Blue Sea
Open Water
She Gods of Shark Reef (heh)
The Reef
Shark Bait (AKA The Reef, animation not to be confused with the above)
Shark Tale
Megashark Vs Crocosaurus
Sand Sharks
Sharks in Venice
Red Water
Cruel Jaws (AKA Jaws 5 in Italy)
Shark Night

Keep 'em comin'...

Two Headed Shark Attack

Anyone watched this?

I was tempted to give it a spin the other week but baulked in the end and put on something respectable instead .

I remain intrigued though. A 2 headed shark!!!!

Interesting little note at the bottom of the Wiki page regarding the infamous Italian JAWS rip-off, Great White:

I've read quite a bit about that film Daz but never seen it.

A couple of years ago I picked up a super-cool original poster of Blue Water, White Death, another superb shark film (albeit a documentary - I think that still counts) with one of my favourite GW images. It is one of my favourite posters, the grainy image and the huge MANEATER across the top. As you will know, the photography in the film was done by Ron and Valerie Taylor who captured the real-life shark footage in Jaws. It also features Rodney Fox, the famous shark attack victim and conservationist (his son Andrew takes the most incredible GW photos - try googling some of his images)

I've got Great White on DVD, albeit a rather substandard copy.

I've not seen Blue Water, White Death for AGES! I did have a copy on VHS, which came via a friend in Malta (who, incidentally, has free-dived with Great Whites in South Africa!). I think I read somewhere, though, that it's available on DVD?

I've got Andrew as a friend on Facebook, and yeah, some of his images are cracking. That would be one of the most awesome jobs in the world!
