Watson and Robson have difficult yet winnable openers; I hope they can both have a decent run.

Murray doesnít seem fit enough to go particularly far and yes his draw isn't fun. The Australian open is my least favoured of the Slams (though mainly because I miss the majority of the live matches) but Iím hoping for some upsets.

Yeah I'm not banking on Murray's fitness - I think he'll get knocked out at or before the QF.

Not my favourite major, may be my second though - there's something about the Australian Open that produces so many fantastic matches. I'll still remember the Djokovic-Wawrinka match last year as one of the all time great Grand Slam matches.

Watson fought, Robson not so much and both are out.

I can't believe Ebden couldn't take advantage of this... Pospisil could barely move early in that third set yet he's the one who's 2-1 and a break up. It's a great advert for mind over matter, though.

[EDIT]

Well, that and a shit ton of painkillers apparently

Hoping for a good match tonight with Murray and Lopez locking horns once again. If Lopez plays like he can, he will test our Andy, but even then I still think Andy will win in three or four. He has looked very good so far, and if anything his flexibility and movement are even better with the back now sorted out and I think he has deliberately lost some muscle in order to improve on that and reach near Djokovic standard for movement and defense, whilst hitting winners when his opponent least expects it.

A few funny serves so far... Here's Murray trying to decapitate Lopez, and here's Federer missing the ball completely

Not gonna lie, I've seen a few serves go awry but never have I seen a player fail to make contact with the ball.

It's the rule of three's people. Lightning strikes thrice with a 3rd 5 setter in 2 years, and third time lucky for Stan.

Wawrinka played amazingly well as did Djokovic and unlike the other games that have gone 5 sets he came out on top, deserved after so many close calls.

Murray V Federer tomorrow looks like a tasty clash and although Murray has a good record against him I think with his fitness Federer will win in 4 sets.

Want to see Wawrinka win the Australian Open and think he can do it he deserves to be in the same bracket as the top 4.

Hmmm Rafa, he's my main player but I think he took the timeout on purpose. He genuinely looks injured though.

Don't think he's much better really. Stan's just fallen into the injured opponent trap and Rafa's decided just to smash the ball.

The big names largely looking strong at present at this year's Wimbledon.

On a lighter note, and because I'm a horrible person, I found this amusing.

Amazed it doesn't happen more often really.

That is hilarious. I was joking with someone that Nadal's opponents should try something like that just the other day.

Well if you're Nick Kyrgios you don't need to employ pyschological tactics to beat Nadal, just tremendous tennis!

And that folks, is the first time Murray's ever gone backwards at Wimbledon.

I was out, I didn't think it'd be finished before I got home, never mind Murray losing in straights.

Bit of a surprise that he didn't seem to turn up (I say seem as I didn't see any of the match) considering he'd been playing so well up to that point.

In terms of the results, it's been a great Wimbledon; there's a definite transition in the generations over on the women's side, and while there are hints at that on the men's too, the fact that two of the 'big four' (sorry) are still there mean we're likely to have another very competitive final.

Well, it's Becker - Edberg IV for the men's final then isn't it?

Really not sure who I'd pick to win either final; knife edge stuff.

Speaking of Scotland, if the referendum gets the Yes result later this year, I wonder if Wimbledon will ban Alex Salmond from attending Andy Murray matches out of spite?

The atmosphere will be, quite rightly, absolutely bonkers if Fed can take the final set. Momentum is with him, he's dug deep. This has to be on.

Really good final. The mental strength of these players never fails to impress. Really great post match interview from Djokovic too and a deserved winner.

I still can't believe he managed to take that match to a 5th set, how's that for fighting spirit

http://gfycat.com/HilariousFrequentAfricanporcupine

That was probably the least painful 5 set loss, as a fan anyway. Even though he won the first set he never really felt like he was ahead, and I was waiting for Novak's level to rise again in the 5th, after his disappointing capitulation at 5-5 in the 4th. As much as I was rooting for Fed, I really didn't want to see Novak lose that after having Championship point, that would have been terrible.

Oh well, it proved that Fed really is over his 2013 problems, and I look forward to seeing more Fed/Djok matches in the future.
