Woke up this Morning with a big ol' smile on my face as I knew that today marks the first day of a long time off work. And what better way to kick-start my hols than to watch The Greatest Film Ever Made? It simply doesn't make sense how much I LOVE The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. There we go...

"See you soon, Id... Idi..."

"Idiots. It's for you."

I wish NECA or MEZCO would hurry up and produce a set of ultra-detailed action figures; even though I've decided to no longer purchase any more items for 'The Collection', this would be the exception.

I'm still yet to meet a female who likes this film (other than my late Mother who is responsible for me falling in love with it in the first place), I've had two ex-girlfriends who were unable to sit with me and watch it all the way through, don't ask me why!

My girlfriend loves it. We watch the Dollars trilogy back to back a few months ago. Though the whole 'TGTBTU' being a prequel and the different names for The Man With No Name confused her. And Lee Van Clef being bad after he was the honourable Colonel Mortimer in A Few Dollars More... but that's trivial.

Amazingly, this is the only trilogy that gets better with each installment.

Don't worry, I'm not dirtying up your thread. Just curious why Silas thinks this movie is a prequel.

TGTBATU is set before Fistful of dollars and For a few dollars more. Therefore,it's a prequel.

Leone and screenwriter Luciano Vincenzoni had both agreed that this film was indeed a story set before the other two 'Dollars' films. Big clue is when we see 'Blondie' collect bits n' pieces of his iconic costume through the film, culminating with picking up his poncho from the dying soldier.

So if it is a prequel then explain how Angel Eyes dies in TGTBATU and is miraculously alive in Few Dollars More?

Fair enough, I always assumed the poncho thing was just some kind of fan service at the end there. I think Lee Van Cleef is being Angel Eyes and Mortimer is clearly the biggest hole in that idea though, among others - I never thought of these as being connected to each other in any way.

Angel Eyes is a completely different character than the one Van Cleef played in A Few Dollars More.

Im quite shocked that any of you guys didnt know it was a prequel. Its always been common knowledge. The fact that Clint gradually acquires the poncho look over the course of the film makes it obvious enough that its a prequel.

Hey man, you know me. This is MY film. I always knew GBU was set before the others and that Colonel Mortimer was a different character to Angel Eyes. So what if Van Cleef played both characters? Luigi Pistilli played 'Groggy' as well as 'Padre Ramirez' and Mario Brega played THREE different characters - one in each film and Josef Egger played 'Piripero' in A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and 'Prophet' in FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE. It's all part of the fun!

Oh i knew YOU knew it was a prequel Snake. You are the expert on this film.I was referring to Rich and Spaldron when i said i was surprised that they didnt know it was a prequel.

I last watched this film last christmas eve.My brother hadnt seen it and we spent that night watching this classic with a few beers.Naturally,he thought it was brilliant.
