That's probably what I would have gone with originally but I snared GBU U.S. blu-ray 'cos at the time, it was the only version which included Sir Christopher Frayling's commentary (which is brilliant and insightful). Turns out the UK and U.S. versions of all three films are identical so, yep I agree with my good buddy DK here.

This boxset? I've already bought this bad boy, I just wanted to be sure it was the best one available before I cracked it open.

Awesome Scott_! I can't wait to watch the first two films in HD. Going through a bit of a 'Clint' phase at the moment - also been watching the 'Non-Leone' Eastwood Westerns.

I've been holding off for 2 (2!!!!!) years so I can witness the beauty in HD. I might just make this weekend an Clint celebration. The Dollars trilogy, High Plains Drifter, Josey Wales and Pale Rider are all due a rewatch and I've never seen Unforgiven so thats my weekend sorted.

Heh I only saw Unforgiven just recently when I picked up a Clint box set. Sort of the anti Western I thought. Do we have thread?

TGTB&TU remains the best, most watchable of this genre

Go for it Spald! And on that note, I just have a wee request for all fellow Leone fans; if you hear of any Cinema Screenings in London of ANY Sergio Leone films, please keep me posted! I was lucky enough to see GBU at the Stratford Picture House waaaay back in 1998 (this was pre-internet, someone just told me in passing and I bunked off work one Saturday Afternoon.) which was AWESOME and it'd be cool to see another. Cheers!

Here's an interesting video that compares the GBU locations 'then & now' -

That is pretty cool, shame that most of it is lost being filmed in a location.

I'm looking for owner of that horse. He's blonde, he smokes a cigar and he's a pig!

I recently watched this film. Sweet Jesus. Why hadn't I seen this before? Where has it been all my life? How did I live before I saw it? You get the point.

Completely adored it, everything about it. An absolutely fascinating film. It's smart, funny, powerful, tense and so, so cool. Amazingly written and acted, with my favourite score ever. The characters are unbelievably good, Tuco especially. Such a great creation. The entire last half hour is probably my favourite thing I've ever watched, that's not even hyperbole. Can't wait to watch it again.

<3 this film .
