I put on 4kgs over christmas, which i'm going to lose within a month. I work at a gym, but did nothing or two weeks and ate like a piggy when i was in the UK, it amazes me how easy it is to put on weight.
I bought a pedometer, which is great and tracks exactly what you do in a day. I aim for 10 000 steps a day and so far today i'm on 3261...

Hi Newander,

So in your opinion, do you think someone like me can do it? Lose weight that is.

I'm just under 13 stone, and 5' 9, I'm told I should be about 11 stone, is 2 stone by July possible?

Guess who's just lost 6lbs in 2 weeks?

Me!

Aiming to lose 2-3 stone though so there's a long way to go. That was basically all my Xmas weight I lost.

I'm 5'11 and weight 220lbs....so there's a bit to lose.

Newander, any help would be great.

I walk to and from work every day (1/2 an hour each way), eat cereal for breakfast and for the past two weeks have been having salad/fruit for lunch and basically the same for dinner.

Any other suggestions (besides running)?

Theproblem with me is, I don't think I'm unfit because I do Taekwondo twice a week (2 2-hour classes) and the gym once.  I've just never been able to eat properly to go with it, otherwise (I've been reliably informed), my weight (about 246lbs) would come down sharpish.

Well, today I took the healthy eating plunge:

I threw out all my chocolate (except one-but that's for when I finish my exams), and replaced it with a bag of inviting-looking apples.  Ditto for my white bread and coke (the drink).  What's even scarier than that is, I think I may stick with it!

Wish me luck!

For me it less about losing weight and rather about healthy eating. Although, right now I'm eating a Kit-Kat chunky peanut thingy.

That's my problem aswell, no matter how often I go to the gym, I eat far too much and wrongly to make a difference.

Luckily I had a chest infection over Christmas and much to my surprise I weighed myself to find I had lost about 1/2 a stone

Makes the job a bit easier.

Gym last Friday, 1st time since I was sick, killed me. Played an hour of indoor footie tonight, not too bad, but my footie skills have completely deserted me.

Nice. I've lost half a stone since New Years and i try to play badminton with a mate once a week. Trying to get him to play squash but he hates the sport. Coward

Last year I lost 10kg in 14 days due to an illness, I've only gained 4 of those back.

I aim to lose another 6-10kgs, bit most importantly redistribute some to muscle instead of fat.

I think losing weight and getting fitter is on most people's agenda. I started 4 weeks ago, I went back to the gym and started my free weights circuit exercise, cardio, swimming and boxing. I still eat the same, but have cut my portions down alot and eat at regualr intervals with alot of water. I have lost 1stone 2lb and the benefits are already showing, I don't get tired when walking, I fit into my clothes much better and even my face is less chubbier.

Thanks for asking Newander.

Haven't had takeaway for about, it must be nearly 4 weeks, doing a lot more of my own cooking, which is psychologically making me feel a lot better about things, coupled with the gym, I am actually feeling a lot more optimistic about how things are going than I did before Christmas, when I was finding it all a bit of a struggle.

Tonight is my last takeaway until at least the middle of May as I'll be going away for a week's holiday to Crete with my friends on the 3rd of the month and I really need to do something about my muffin-tops!

When your roll(s) of flab spill out over the top of your jeans/shorts/swimsuit etc.

It's most unattractive.

Oooww, I can't stand them, espeicaillly when the person insists on wearing a short tight top aswell .

I lost half a stone over Christmas, don't know how and I can't see where it's gone from either. I was eating whatever junk that was thrown in front of me.
My love of chips + family history of heart disease = early death, so I've been saying to myself I'll join a gym since the start of Jan, still haven't got round to doing it yet.

Interesting, coke (not the drink) is great for losing weight.

Kidding, kidding, I would never endorse hard drugs.
Much.

Anyhoo, go me! I'm 5'3" and I have been trying to loose weight for, basically, most of my adult life, and now I am below 10-stone for the first time since I was about 16!! I am so proud of myself. Just been eating healhty, refusing all the cakes and donughts on offer at work, and doing a lot of walking. I need to start doing proper exercise to tone up, though.

One down side; I have now dropped from a size 14-16 to a size 12, but have fuck-all money so can't afford new clothes!  So all I have to wear are a few things that I can now fit back into, which is nice, and loads of stuff that is too big for me so looks stupid when I put it on. And the jeans I've had and loved since I was 18 finally died a death and got too worn to wear out in public last week. So I don't even have any jeans.

Anyone care to donate money to the Give Shaunette Pretty New Clothes For Being Such a Good Girl Fund??

Nice work, Timon!

I've found a carefully regimented plan of having intenstinal 'flu over Crimbo and then catching tonsillitus last week to have been a great weight-loss help.

We should post Before and After pics. I have photos of myself pre-start of losing weight. We should post six montly pics or something, as a motivational aid!

Nice work mate   I've lost about 7lbs myself since Christmas, although, this isn't really very different ot my usual weight fluctuations.
