he also co-wrote the thoroughly excellent C4 comedy Nathan Barley, with Chris Morris.

I met Chris Morris the other month but as i was at work i didn't ask him what i wanted to. Which was why was no second series ever made!

I can tell you that one. Abysmal ratings. The final episode apparently had less than 700,000 viewers which at the time were terrible ratings.

Yeah i know that but there's been rumours since that there still might be a second series. Of course it's too late now. I was just always hoping that Chris Morris would force them to commission a second series somehow. Maybe with a gun?

Haven't heard anyone put the whole Jade saga better. More people really need to se this show. I would say air it on BBC 1 or 2 but they'd probably just rip it to pieces.

Agreed its refreshing to know that he's on the box granted on the periphery channels. I look forward to Charlie’s take on today’s farce of desperate reporting on the g20 ‘riots’. No poetry this week though L

I suspet part of the "user generated content" that now plauges our news channels has as much to do with filling time as anything. Sky News spend a whole hour every night doing a countdown of what was a popular on thier website.

I don't give a crap what other members of the public think. All I want is some goddam journalism. What do they teach in the unis nowerdays? Most reporting seems to consist of re-writing press releases.

From his twitter: Next week: newsreaders, terror, and a special short film from Adam Curtis.
Well, one hopes the G20 will impact it a little, but maybe that'll be ep 4, since the Jade saga only hit this week.

I loved that bit when he said that man in the wheelchair being pulled along by his dog was Channel 5's version of Ben Hur

Tis on youtube if you don't mind watching it in a slightly lower quality! Although, I think it's repeated on BBC4 several times through out the week.

It seems to be working today. Must have been a bug. In the same respect every video I tried on Youtube came up with "This video is no longer available".

I liked that comment regarding that paparazzi bloke being a giant human arse cheek.

Glenn Beck looks like a scary scary man. Thnk goodness we live in a country heavy in sarcasm. Makes our media feel quaint.

that chap looked like a mentalist.

Very strong episode this week, the contribution from Adam Curtis was a bit rushed, i guess he usually has three hours to make his point.

The Bill O Riley end link was also pretty amusing.

Another good episode. Brooker's definitely going for the more cynical & critical tone with newswipe but it works & it's totally appropriate.

Already knew that Bill O'Reilly was a grade A twat but that Howard Bealesque gentlemen was extraordinarily crackers!

Could you imagine Hugh Edwards or Jeremy Paxman doing the same?

Well no surprises there that the G20 protests got a look in there.

Another appearance by Bill O'Reilly too...there's something disturbingly funny about his insidious, blindstricken, right wing agenda.

Still not warming to Tim Key's poetry, maybe I will later in the year.

That was the final episode wasn't it?

Brown Poll.

Really strong episode this week, great summary of the coverage of the protests.  Nice to see Barry Shitpeas again too.

That O'reilly twunt is a serious fruitcake. I can't believe they let him spout that bullshit.

I think this was the strongest of the series, and had some of the best lines.

"Brave crew manage to expel unwanted seamen..."

*Latest reports suggest they've beaten off the pirates*

Was Bill the fella who was shouting at the kid whose Father had died in Iraq? Completely ridiculous stuff, can't quite believe its actually real - even though it clearly is. Then again, it is on Fox News... Murdoch surprise!

Bill O' Reilly deserves to be smacked across the face. Keith Olbermann's show is hilarious for some anti-Fox rants, especially aimed at Bill-O.

Great episode this week, I know everybody else has said it but Bill 'Orilley is just a complete dick, loved the reference to Dr. Strangelove, still don't like the poetry stuff though.

O' Reilly and all the Fox news lot are bigoted liars of the highest order. Olbermann is sort of the polar opposite of O' Reilly but without the bigotry, lies or inflated sense of self importance (he's a pure liberal who likes himself a bit much but he's very entertaining and has his heart in the right place.) I tend to ignore news until the BBC confirm it.
