I totally agree, the tribute was very heartfelt and quietly moving. And as a parent of young children myself I was very happy to see him ripping into the godawful Lazytown. I particularly liked the phrase 'back-flipping around like a bell-end'!

I thought this week's could have done with being a bit longer.  Charlie obviously has a lot to say on the subject but only touched on some areas, while the Andy Nyman bit about that freaky Christian puppet thing could have been a bit shorter.

I suppose if the show was longer it would have turned into one of those 'Remember all these old kiddie shows?' kinda programmes.

Kudos to Charlie for having a stab at being a children's TV presenter!

Anyone see the last in the series '2008 round-up'. Funniest of the series, Charlie back to his best after a few below-par episodes IMO. I could watch that bit with Charlie's alternative Gladiator names all day. 'Bastard'... 'Ouch'... 'Jeffrey'... great stuff.

I loved it.  Always nice to see Barry Shitpeas.  I loved the X factor nightmare sequence.

New series starting next Wednesday (25th) on BBC 4 at 10:30pm. This series is now called Newswipe where  'Charlie Brooker vents his spleen on the news's potty obsession with the credit crunch'.

And if you can't wait, the Newswipe non-broadcast pilot is out there on t'internet. It's rather good.

I dunno the hate for the poetry, I think it's hysterically silly enough to be allowed.
Good show, not the best though.

Once again the best thing on TV. Always impressed with how fast and smoothly he manages to switch from a playful comic satire to hard-hitting drama within a couple of seconds.

His columns for the Guardian are excellent (http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/charliebrooker), especially this one - http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/mar/02/charlie-brooker-politicians. The first thing of his I came across were his spoof listings at TV Go Home (http://www.tvgohome.com/); he also co-wrote the thoroughly excellent C4 comedy Nathan Barley, with Chris Morris.

Great viewing as per usual, have really started to warm to the poetry section too. Looking forward to see what topics he tackles next.

I met Chris Morris the other month but as i was at work i didn't ask him what i wanted to. Which was why was no second series ever made!

I can tell you that one. Abysmal ratings. The final episode apparently had less than 700,000 viewers which at the time were terrible ratings.

That was brilliant. Angry and to the point. He summed up the whole Jade thing perfectly.

Nice to see that he also agrees the Have Your Say pages represent the worst of mankind.

His comment about Rob Liddle made me laugh.

I loved his anger at the news coverage of the snow.   Totally agree about his segment on Jade too.
