I dont know how many people have seen this show on BBC4, its just finished its Second Season and its Third will be shown in February.

For those unfamiliar with the show its basically a very cynical, nasty and downright hilarious Charlie Brooker commenting on the state of Television today. It goes through his opinions on what is fucking rubbish at the moment (The Mint on ITV, most reality T.V shows, Advertisements that talk down to you, Soaps) while giving about 5 or so minutes to T.V shows he really think need more attention (Arrested Development, The Wire, The Omega Tape)

Charlie Brooker is a very cynical and pessimistic persona on the show, but to be honest, I havent laughed this hard at a show since Arrested Development, if you feel the same way he does about Soaps, Reality Television, Ads, Makeover Programs it is essential viewing!

He went on record to state that he promotes the use of the internet to spread his show so im gonna link a few episodes to give newcomers a chance to see him, if you have a few spare minutes and would like a good few laughs check it out -

I love Charlie Brooker - anyone who promotes The Shield and The Wire as much as he does is alright by me, and I love all of his reviews - hell, I stayed up to watch the New Years Screenwipe that was on at 1:30am in the morning (why did they show the first showing of this over the midnight period? Who's not going to be watching the fireworks on BBC1?). I like Brooker as well because he's the complete opposite of the usual TV snobs that you see on the telly. He's both an enthusiast and a cynic about completely the right things, and so is always a complete joy to listen to, He also has no problems with giving praise to other media like videogames (especially since he came from writing for PC Zone magazine).

His TVGoHome website is a good place to stop by for a giggle, and he is a regular columnist for the Guardian too so have a look there for more Brooker related stuff.

Would like to see him and Lawrence Fishburne side-by-side - ever since he mentioned a resemblance I always think of Brooker whenever I see the Matrix now - adds yet another layer in there I didn't even realise existed....

Glad to see that this is back for a 4th(?) series.  Never fails to raise a smile from me.  Loved the way he took the piss out of Heroes and his very accurate dissection of rolling news in last weeks show.

It was nice to see I wasn't the only person to really really hate that "Everyone has a mate like Mickey" Head and Shoulders advert.

He's not wrong about The Wire.  I loved that '10 biggest cocks in advertising' thing he did a couple of weeks ago.  Bloody hilarious

My 15 year old sister loves that show and I have actually seen that epiosde with the spoiled bitch that Charlie ripped into last night. Fucking horrid little shit that she is.....the girl, not my sister

My sister watches the show to ridicule them by the way. She constantly says 'bet you're glad I'm not like that?' to me.

I have loved the guy for quite a while now.  I first heard of him through his TV column in Saturdays Guardian,  His column in Mondays edition is his view on life (always very good, especially Spiders) but his TV review appears on Saturday.

Odd that he is now really close friends with Asylene from last years Big Brother, they went to Glastanbury together (a very funny article if you can find it)

Yeah, that was great. I was half expecting that Strongbow commercial to feature, which is quite ironic because that same podgy, idiot with a tendancy for extensive A-a-a-a-h-ing that features in the ad played Tim Key the poet in this week's episode. Just thought I'd mention it.

Didn't he write Nathan Barley with Chris Morris, too? I'll throw my hat into this burning ring of love, Brooker is a true legend.

I much prefer his writing to be honest and in particular his column in The Guide...I've only seen two episodes of wipe so far though and whilst some of it I've found funny a lot I haven't

Thanks Kenny, I'll definitely have a look at those later

Also, I just thought I'd let you know that a couple of the links didn't work for me, I don't know why.

Kenny. Thanks for posting the links to the early eps.  I've just seen the ep with the comment about the ad with the talking toilet and havn't laughed so hard in a long time!  " Ooh Madam!  Would you like to shit in my mouth?" Genius!

I've started buying the Guardian just for that, which I suppose is a further compliment to the programme.
