Does anyone else think Nadia Yassir (the dark haired woman in ctu) is an undercover terrorist. I have two reasons why I think she is, a) She managed to bring the firewall down which Chloe noticed and blackmailed her with and b) she is middle eastern or can speak the language anyway. These two things highlight that she could be a terrorist. Either that or a huge red herring.

Would be too obvious. Every season a new character seems to be a mole.

As great as the opening two episodes where (and they really where; the jugular-gnaw surely a potential top ten Bauer moment) I must admit to being a tad dubious about the coming episodes.

Are we going to get the usual 24 treatment whereby the gist of the trailers and promotional stuff is only for the first episode and by about ep 4 we're back to the usual; Jack chases threat, keeps losing it, eventually gets it and saves the day? I was hoping for a dark little personal theme to Season 6 as the trailers and posters have suggested to us ("JACK'S COUNTRY NEEDS HIM. DEAD.") but all that was over by episode two and Jack's back to his normal running around LA stopping threats.

I'm really hoping that the baldy bad-guy (can't remember his name) returns to his original deal and wants Bauer's life to stop the bombing, only this time Jack know something which suggests he won't stop and so refuses to hand himself over so contently. Cue CTU, LAPD, the government, not to mention angry mobs etc all after Jack.

Or something.

I love 24 as much as anyone else but I'm a bit worried it's going to be come all too predictable.
I know we're only two eps in but surely I wasn't alone in sussing out Ahmed was a baddie within 35 seconds.
Still gotta love it though.

I am getting bored with this whole Muslim thing, this is on the the basis that they have gone down this road in Seasons 2 & 4.

It is important to highlight issues in curren tworld events but I think this bombing storyline shows a lack of imagination.

I know the story will expand & develop and Graham and his blue tooth gang will be involved some how, but the makers are too obsessed with this Muslim thing.

I did not like the fact that the redneck who beat up the Asian kid in the house because of his prejudice and paranoia, turned out to be right in his view, but for the wrong reasons.

I do slightly see your point, but I don't think the show is totally unfair. There is a huge internation threat from Muslim extremists and the show is just mirroring that. I do feel sorry for honest muslims though who pretty much have to take all sorts of shit everday.

I thought she was latino and I am sure many of the workers there can talk an arabic language (if only for interrogation purposes)

Man. I was half way through episode 4 thinking how I was gonna write a reply on here about how boring and standard the episodes had been. So predictable and everything we've seen before. But then......

Jesus Christ Jack. Those chinese really fucked you up didn't they. Shooting Curtis?! What the fuck? And then the bomb. We've had whole seasons dedicated to stopping explosions like that, and then BAM! - one goes off in episode 4.

But I really hope things start getting exciting with the other characters. Chloe, Milo, Bill, Wayne (who is pretty wet) and his sister. It's all pretty boring at the moment. But I'll forgive them for the end of this episode. The music, Jack crying, the bomb, Curtis shot on the floor. Well done 24. I still love you.

MY GOD episode 4! i agree 3 was a tad slow, but 4 was brilliant, im still shaking! finished it a few minutes ago on Sky +! for a moment i thought curtis would live, jack breaking down had shades of season3, and the music was excellent, did it remind anyone else of the Bad Wolf music from Dr Who? The bomb was a shock, roll on next weeks double episode!

I thought the same thing.

On another note some of the characters are rather crap. This Milo, Chloe, & morris thing is irritating.

Waynes sister is crap as well. I miss the characters fro the first 2 seasons. The supporting characters is this one arn't much cop.

I'm pretty sure that music was from the Soundtrack of Best Picture Winner, Crash.

I was unsure whether or not Curtis actually passed away. He looked more wounded than dead. The moans on here about the liberal use of  Muslims as Terrorists is understandable but this isn't set during the good ol' days when America's enemies were widespread. They gotta go with what they know and the the other seasons have tried different cultures such as Russians, Serbs, Mexicans and our very own Brits too. So they can mix it up a little.

Also,I would love for the  creators to do a prequel season showing Jack in action during the conflict  in the Balkans. This would be a good idea and a great excuse to bring back Dennis Hopper.

I think the best thing about this season is Jack's mind. He's really fucked up - I love how he's questioning if he can do this any more. It's put a really interesting slant on things. I hope they concentrate on this more and improve the sub-plots.

Definately, its not the same Jack which really puts a whole new perspective on things and is making it all the more exciting. Will he go back to his old ways? There was that look right at the end when the bomb went off which i think showed anger so lets hope this sets him off.
But what an episode, and what a shame Curtis never really got to show his true potential, wasnt expecting that

That's true. I was hoping Curtis would become the new Tony. He was my favourite character from season five (not including Jack, obviously). I'm definitely enjoying this season so far, though annoyed with having to wait a week between episodes. I should have done what I did with the last season - wait until it's out on DVD and then watch it over a couple of days (or just one day, which is how I watched season 4). Also, the bastarding adverts ruin the mood a bit for me too. Still, good stuff so far.

For the first time ever, they'll be a 24 hour period  where the Sky and Downloaders will have seen exactly the same amount of episodes. We'll all be on equal terms. Just thought I'd mention that...

Yep, this is my first time watching on sky too and its bloody annoying! The first lot of adverts came ony 5 minutes or so into the episode and they seem to go on forever! I watched all the others series on dvd and it was great at the end of an episode to just watch that 'one more'. I don't have the patience for all these adverts and week intervals. But hey, its fucking brilliant so far

I can't believe my bad luck, I've just finished writing a script for uni where the protagonist is being tortured and kills his torturer by biting his neck and ripping away a good part of his throat and now I've just seen that exact seen happen on 24!
Worst still, everyone in my uni watches 24 so they're gonna think I copied it!
Argh! Oh well, if I'm going to lose a great idea like that it might as well be to the greatness that is 24.
Great start to the new season, looking forward to more, just stop stealing my ideas!

I never thought being at a uni where only one person and me ever watch 24 would be a good thing, but now I can see an upside!

I think, especially in hour 4, they were angling for the predictable sorta angle with the episode, I mean who would have expected they would have gotten rid of the furniture that is Curtis Manning? Oh and that other thing. Something about a bomb that doesnt give anyone cancer.

Downloaders:
Sunday 14th January - Episodes 1 and 2 (8/7C)
Monday 15th January - Episodes 3 and 4 (8/7C)
Monday 22nd January - Episode 5 (9/8C)
Monday 29th January - Episode 6 (9/8C)
Monday 5th February - Episode 7 (9/8C)

Sky:
Sunday 21st January - Episodes 1 and 2
Sunday 28th January - Episodes 3 and 4
Sunday 4th February - Episodes 5 and 6
Sunday 11th February - Episode 7

Between Sunday the 4th and Monday 5th, the Sky viewers and US viewers will have watched the same amount of episodes. Which is odd since the past seasons, us downloaders have had to avoid potential future spoilers.... not so much now though!

Not a bad couple of hours, lots happening but not much hope. Good to see Jack finally getting agressive again, and way hay lets end it on Jack being in an impossible situation, with his bloody dad and brother. And of all the people, his brother had to be the fucker from series 5 (not giving anything away for those who havent seen series 5).

It was a good couple of episodes. Couple of twists i didn't really see coming and its at that point at the series where your trying to guess what happens before this storyline gets eradicated and inevitably turns into something even bigger.

One thing i have really noticed in this series, is the budget seems to have gone up, lots of explosions and that cool bit with the chopper on the roof. Maybe the names culled from the last season were being paid too much

These episodes were okish. Jack didnt do much besides drive but what he did do was fantastic and gripping which made it all the more frustrating with the boring sub-plots. Is it just me or is Palmer's sister voice really, really iritating? Wayne's president is okay with me in the sense that I get he's trying hard but is obviously nowhere near as ready for the presidency as his brother was. I get the feeling that he was probably partially elected thanks to the weight that went with his brother's name and legacy and is struggling with that. And oh, Graham, Jack's brother? What-the-fuck!?

1. Yup she is irritating as hell mis cast IMO

2. Siblings? I fear we are heading for more Season 4 type nonsense. What is all that about. Is going to be a soap opera now.
