Big disapointing. Holes in screenplay biggest than Hagrid. It was only an action - story was on a second plane. Booring, in some place stupid and too "cool". Dress is the best :P. Three stars. One for Emma Watosn, one for Clémence Poésy and one for a.. poor and stupid dragon.

The action sequences including the tournament quests and the ending save this film from being very disapointing. The editors and screen writers have left important scenes out of the film and replaced with superflous scenes like any with Rita Skeeter who is forgotten about or discarded like a toy by an uninterested child making her early scenes quite pointless.
The actors are so well cast but Michael Gambon plays Dumbledore all wrong in this adaptation which is really upsetting and makes you wish that Ian McKellen had taken over from the late Richard Harris.
The cemetary scenes are well handled and make up for some of the films other downfalls.
While I still enjoyed the film I couldn't help feeling let down by it for what it could have been.

i honestly didn't mind michael gambon as an actor, but he had to ruin it by playing dumbledore. i don't care what anyone says, in an otherwise loyal-to-the-book (casting wise) film, gambon sticks out like an abrasive sore thumb. anyone who adores the books, surely does not believe he makes a good dumbledore!!??!
and as for the film, it's definitely too much shoved in to quickly. and therefore lacks the quality the book reeks of. too many good books are being ruined by poor film franchises.

This film version clearly isn't as good as the book (which is absolutely my favorouite one in the series), however it's still Harry Potter and that just can't be bad!! They messed up with some of the scenes but it's exciting and the effects are well done. All in all a GREAT movie!

3 STARS?!! This is (So far) the best Potter movie yet.
It completely improved on the Mediocre Part 3. Its just too bad that Part 5 was so disappointingly rubbish. Thank God that Potter 6 was also good.

Things started to get REALLY interesting in Azkaban. Harry inherits a Godfather wanted by the magical world for murder- falsely accused, naturally. He also discovers his best mate's rat is actually a conniving traitor who sold his parents down the river to HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED. Oh, and he got a new broom. Again. Soooo. The Goblet Of Fire builds on this success, Azkaban under the skilful guidance of Cueron set a darker stall for HP- which fits nicely alongside the growing darkness of Rowling's hand. GOF is the first of the series to show a character dying (and then unfortunately being respawned as the god-awful Twilight hero) and it takes the responsibility seriously. Gambon has finally settled into Harris' shoes as the enigmatic and powerful Dumbledore, and Gleeson walks away with the film as Mad Eye Moody, a loony Dark Arts teacher with dark secrets. Other than that it's the relationship with Harry and his classmates that fills the film- Ron's jealousy of his mate's attention, Hermione wanting Ron but being frustrated by a)hormones and b)his inane ladishness. He is 14, after all. Harry is starting to feel the weight of responsibility too. The showdown in the graveyard is excellent, Fiennes sweeping in and having a cracking little duel with Radcliffe- who does a great job of showing real courage; coming out from behind a grave knowing he will die. But thankfully, he doesnt. Hurrah!

Overall this is a great film, and confirms that the series is getting stronger. The main three are getting better and better and the support cast- Neville, Seamus, Cho all start to step up as well. A great film.

An Improvement, But A Marginal One - 22/3/2011 3:24:53 PM

Following in the trend started by the third film, a new director is yet again brought on board. This time it's Mike Newell, famous for the excellent Donnie Brasco. But does he bring his movie magic to the Harry Potter franchise? Well, yes and no. They've definitely captured the essence of the book, and given the characters a lot more breathing space to toy with. But in terms of filmic merit, this is, yet again, little more than a solid film. A definite improvement over its' predecessor, but only slightly. We desperately needed Columbus back at this point.

A downstep in quality after Prisoner of Azkaban caused by the enormity of the book and the fact that it has been labourously reduced. The most adventurous potter film but also the most hateful: cliched teen romance, even more awkward acting from Radcliffe, Gambon who fails to match the charm from the previous film and altogether feels long. However through all this it has some absolute gems especially that ending which is the best bit in the film. 3 stars from me - good but not entirely satisfying.

Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire
Nothing special this one, except for the finale wich was cool. It never gets really exciting.
The effects get better and better though and still look good.

7,1/10

The main characters are maturing, and the filmmakers are likewise improving on their craft; vibrant special effects and assured performances add up to what is the most complex yet of the Harry Potter films.
