New viral today. POTENTIAL SPOILERS. A letter from Lucius to Bruce about his absence from Wayne Enterprises. Interesting no doubt, maybe the notion that... ahh fuck it. Anyone else just want to see the film now?

Yes, yes I do.

And my commitment to my self imposed Trailer / TV spot blackout last less than a day!

Nice to finally get confirmation that Blake is indeed an orphan. Plus the latest viral (his employee evaluation) reads like it could be for Bruce Wayne... interesting. Wonder if the latest batch of virals will lead to anything?

It may already happen but they aren't allowed to talk about it yet. The biggest problem comes the week prior to the release when WB will be doing the general press screening. No doubt spoilers will be leaked out.

Also I read Bruce Wayne profile on John Blake. The only spoiler from it is the impression I got how John Blake will develope.

Dark Knight Rises just received the 12A cert and clocks in at a hair under 165 minutes.

I've been trying to find out if there are actually press screenings being arranged for this. Have you heard that there's definitely one happening?

Yahoo are running a competition for tickets to regional premieres on the Wednesday at the moment. They're the earliest confirmed public previews for now, and its unlikely to change.

Batman On Film talked about this during their latest podcast. I can't remember what they said but the impression I got there is an early screening for some critics. By early I mean like three weeks before the release date.

Hmm, then that'd be sometime in the last few days then wouldn't it (the film opens in 17 days). I'm friends with a lot of critics, and none of them have mentioned anything, but I'm going to do some digging tonight. That the film has been certified means that there's no reason for it not to be screened now, although any reviews will be embargoed (I suspect) 'til release week.

On another note, Cineworld today announced plans for Begins/Dark Knight double-bills on the 17th. Thats the day before I see RISES so I'm thinking I'll pop along.

EDIT - Apparently some US critics have seen it (yesterday). There are screenings on Friday too, with embargoes seemingly set for next Monday (I think). Which is earlier than I expected.

That does seem early. Could it be an indication that early critical reaction is highly positive ?

Theoretically yes. The studio must be confident that word-of-mouth will help sell the film.

Well my tickets are booked - Odeon IMAX (i.e, not a real IMAX) - Cardiff, 21st July, 4pm. Cannot wait.....only two weeks!!!

This is getting a little ridiculous now but there's even longer soundtrack samples online here:

http://www.qobuz.com/album/the-dark-knight-rises-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-hans-zimmer/0794043160523

Why do they have to release a soundtrack like this? Why not release the whole thing earlier? Still, it sounds absolutely incredible. The soundtrack probably isn't in chronological order, but 'Rise' sounds particularly sombre, and 'Why Do We Fall' sounds.....off the scale.

Side note: To be honest, I think elements of 'Rise' will play during the film, but it sounds like an end credits track to me (and thematically it's closely tied to the Batman Begins soundtrack, which is wonderful).

Not too spoiler-y, thankfully.

My worry is the ending will creep out. That's one thing I really don't want to hear.

Nice bit of dialogue:

BANE
The shadows betray you
because they belong to me.

It's so close! Although I'm a bit frustrated. I'm over in Australia at the moment where it comes out on the 19th, but every cinema in Sydney seems to be entirely booked out for the first week (at least). I thought I was actually going to be able to see it a day early, but me being an idiot I didn't think to book a ticket. A cinema just down the road is also showing Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on the evening of the 18th, followed by a midnight screening of Rises. Also sold out...

That's weird - didn't WB ban midnight screenings over there like they did for the UK then?

Spoilers possible,

So I am assuming that when Bane is talking about "Shadows' he is talking about The League of Shadows.....interesting!

Looking good, I think there may be a few surprises in this film.

Well if they did a bunch of cinemas haven't listened. Did they really ban midnight screenings in the UK? That seems weird.

As far as I can tell the IMAX isn't totally booked out, I just don't fancy spending $31 on a ticket... Might just have to be done though

Now I just need to convince the missus that the Begins/Dark Knight double bill at Cineworld on 17th is a good idea!!

50 critic screenings today apparently... time to unplug from the interwebs until I’ve seen it I think.

I usually look forward to reading reviews of blockbusters, but I'm with you guys - I don't want to know any more. and I definitely don't want the ending spoiled. I'm going to avoid ALL reviews unless I know for sure that they contain no spoilers.

I usually look forward to Empire reviews but is anyone else worried? They do tend to be spoilerific no matter how cryptic.
