Surely we lose any tension the show would have due to the fact we know the outcomes of the Connor's due to Terminator 3?

Or is this one of those alternate timeline series?

I kinda thought it was, cus in T3 John stills think him and his mum stopped the end world in T2 and only finds out that they didn't in T3, and this takes place in between T2 and T3

Maybe thats why its called The Sarah Connor Chronicles - John Connor said his mum died but I think there is wiggle room there for her to disappear from his life and put all those guns in the crypt. So we follow her adventures as she gets chased by sub par Terminators while John goes into hiding.

Actully, who am I kidding. This show won't even get a full season.

Best if we all forget about it.

I actually thought it doesn't look to bad. Apart that bloke playing the Terminator. He just looks terrible.

You see I think he looks like the best thing in it. Very much like the next type of T-800. Like the guy that infiltrated the bunker in Kyle's flashback. Interested to see how they work in Dyson's widow as well.

It's just the Summer Glau/female terminator angle. Just seems a tad rubbish......ESPECIALLY if John develops a crush on her.

And how is the Resistance allowing it since they smashed Skynet and seized the machines? I'll accept they may have had a backup for T2 but surely Future Connor and the Resistance seized that one when they sent back the modified T-800?

With gleeful abandon it seems.

I have seen clips put on Ain't it Cool, looks ok , but not good enough to get excited about. Looks like Terminator Ultra lite. Plus the female, teenage Terminator having emotions and stuff is very silly.

I think this has some potential looking at the clips on AICN but i doubt it will last very long. I would be very suprised if it goes to a second season but if it is given a full first season and is not set up for a second season it could be ok as a stand alone Terminator story.

Would get rid of the girl though.  The "Come with me if you want to live" is terrible and i think the Connors vs Terminator would be better.

I see Virgin 1 has bought the rights to this series along with the whole Star Trek output which means sky is gona have a big hole in its schedule now.

2 questions tho,

1.What the hell is Virgin 1?Is it something to do with the virgin media thing

2.Will that mean that Sky viewers will miss out for once?

Virgin Media will be launching it on there new channel virgin one in the Autumn
this is there latest press release,.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles - the kick-ass spin-off from the Terminator movies that bridges the gap between Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

It stars British actress Lena Headey as the heroine as she and her son John find themselves fugitives from the law, confronted by an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying their lives, and possibly the world.

Every instalment is like a mini-movie - with the first episode alone costing about $8 million to make. The series is packed full of amazing action, fantastic stunts and breathtaking special effects and it was the stand-out show at the recent season launches in LA - and we grabbed it from under the noses of everyone else.

We're going to be giving Sarah Connor the full on-demand treatment as well by offering Virgin Media TV customers the opportunity to watch her whenever and wherever they want. Catch-ups, previews and exclusive content will be available via our broadband service and our On-demand services.

I also wondered this. As Virgin don't have Sky One anymore will Virgin now do the same to Sky. Virgin own the Living Channel and something else which I can't remember and Sky still get those

There's a decent interview - HERE that has semi-alieviated many of my fears and concerns about the show.

No Terminator of the week! No leukimia! They're ignoring T3! Get in!

Just stumbled across the official fox trailer for this if anyones interested? I imgaine its similar to the footage that was initially leaked, but glossed up nicely.

I really don't know what to think about this show, it has 'bad' written all over it but I'm prepared to give it a chance, especially if the rumoured budget is to be beleived.

see trailer here

Do you know what I think they should have done?

Brought back Lance Henriksen as Detective Hal Vukovich. You never saw him die on screen so perhaps he's partially disabled or something and has dedicated his life to finding out about Sarah Connor and the 6ft 4 Austrian he pumped an M16 magazine into and didn't kill.

No? I thought not.....

Now that would be a great idea - even as a side character.

The whole thing reeks of straight to DVD.

Its sad that I can now see them doing this with the Alien and Predator franchises.

See, it could be terrible- but the footage (apart from a few pretty crappy bits)  is actually good.  And the interview is interesting.  So I'm going to give it a chance.  Just let it be good.

The showrunner you've linked to Timon certainly talks a good game I'll give him that.

It won't be average this show, I'm sure of that. A train wreck, widly uneven or in fact pretty good; but average? Not a chance.

In the States it's January 08 I think (so how Virgin above are defining 'The Autumn' in their advertising is beyond me). So, er, the Monday evening afterwards for me.

Fox tend to do that with a lot of their shows. If it underperforms they can always shove it on after American Idol (which again, doesn't start 'til Jan) to give it a boost that way.

Yep - me too as long as its on stream somewhere (maybe have to wait til tuesday)

The only reason I asked is because, on the interview page Timon linked it says:
TV Network: FOX
Airs: Sunday 9:00 PM
Runtime: 60 minutes
Genre: Sci-Fi

So I figured it meant it was starting this sunday?

Well I seemed to be one of few who thought it looked good anyways, but now it looks really good, loved the bit where that terminator takes the gun out of his leg.

That trailer really is a marked improvement on the others. Really using the effects and action to sell it. Hearing the music again got me excited. I'll certainly be giving the show a try before writing it off.

Nevermind, the trailer says Fall at the end. And man does this show look amazing! And nice to see Summer Glau back looking better than ever. Although her delivery of the "come with me if you want to live" line is a little flat
