Alec Baldwin is a God in this, glad he's getting some well-deserved attention now. Its the Arrested Development version of Studio 60.

I've only watched the first three or four episodes but it's an excellent show. I remember reading the script and thinking it was dreadful but it works much better on screen. Baldwin will win an Emmy for this.

I've seen the first 2, Baldwin and Tracy are pretty good, but Tina Fey hasn't been given many great lines her role is pretty straight, i was looking forward to seeing her after seeing her do the news on SNL.

As for the comparrisons this is a nice alternative, i would love to see a show created that's a mid point between this and Studio 60 as i think both have something lacking that i cant put my finger on yet.

I love Tina. I think she's the best SNL host ever (followed shortly by Jimmy Fallon) I loved their Weekend Update!
Tina does write the show so I'm guessing out of choice she's downplayed her character...
Baldwin does get some hilarious lines (for example, when he was weighing up her life in the pilot)

I have watched the first Two Episode! Thanks to Punchy
I like it. it has an arrested development vibe because its not really serious at all and Tina Fray is kinda like the only normal one (like michael bluth)

Like I said above, haven't been watching 30 Rock but decided to download the latest epiosde this week. Such a brilliant show. And yeah, very similar in tone to Arrested Development. Definitely the best new comedy of the season.

I especially liked the joke about Les Moonves/Moonvest. And apparently the payoff to the 'Gold Case' gag came after the shows credits - you see all the hot models struggling to lift the extremely heavy cases.

And Baldwin won the Golden Globe, he's getting closer to that Emmy!

Gah, whats happening to the show? Its been consistently great up until the last 2 episodes, now they seem to be abandoning playing it straight for the cheap laugh. Anyone else still watching it?

Haven't been watching regularly but I did catch the Will Arnett episode which was very enjoyable. Worrying news in recent days though - Baldwin has publicly said that he wants to quit the show. Apparently he couldn't care less if he ever acts again. NBC are refusing to let him walk though, but how long can they hold onto him for? Without Baldwin the show may aswell be over.

When this show recently won an Emmy award for outstanding comedy series, its creator and star Tina Fey quipped that she wanted to thank the show's "dozens and dozens" of viewers: like so many promising US series, it was a critical hit, but a commercial damp squib. It might suffer the same fate here. It's set in the backstage world of television, but just because you've heard the backstage-on-a-TV-show premise a lot lately doesn't mean you should give this a miss. It feels unformed, as pilots often do, but there's the spark of something special. Fey plays the producer of a live TV sketch show whose world is upturned when a new executive takes charge. As played by Alec Baldwin, the oily new boss is a brilliant creation, given to joyously backhanded compliments, including one of my favourite lines of the year: "I like you," he tells Liz. "You have the boldness of a much younger woman." Word is that the series evolves and improves as it goes on: get in on the ground floor.

Jerry Seinfeld provided a great guest appearance in the last episode. And from what i hear, Will Arnett is in the next episode.

I thought the first episode was really average - maybe it didn't sit well after watching the superior Californication

I really enjoyed the pilot, some great laugh out loud moments, loved that assistant guy.

I didn't enjoy the pilot at all when I watched it at the start of the US season, so much so that I didn't watch another episode for a long while. But as the season went on, I heard a lot of great stuff about the show, and decided to give it another shot. I'm so glad I did. It took about 4 episodes for me to really get into it, but it's very funny. I still don't love it as much as a lot of other people, but its definitely worth watching. The Seinfeld episode in season 2 is classic.

I've seen the pilot. It wasn't great but I think it has potential. Quite a bit of the comedy seemed forced I thought. I'll stick with it and see how it goes.

The second episode was just as funny, Tracy Morgan cracks me up, and Alec Baldwin is an absolute hoot.

He's a stand-up comedian and actor. I think, on the show, he's supposed to be like Martin Lawrence.

    bad news for 30 rock-

"There was also disappointing news for Five straight afterwards between 10.40pm and 11.10pm when the second episode of new US sitcom 30 Rock brought in 500,000 viewers at a 4% share.
This was also down 200,000 viewers - and two share points - on the previous week's debut for the show, which is centred on a US TV network sketch show and stars Alec Baldwin and Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey. "

that late slot is killing the show on 5.

This is picking up nicely, the third episode was definately the best yet, possibly because we had less of Tracy Jordan. He's so very annoying.

Are people still watching this? It started slowly but after the first few episodes it improved enormously, it's now one of my favourite shows. Brilliant writing and the cast are all pitch perfect. Fey and Baldwin are particularly good. It's hilarious.

Last night's double bill featured the funniest moment of the show so far, as Jack Donaghy reads a critical review of his wine - "Donaghy Estate tastes like the urine of Satan after a hefty dose of asparagus"

I'm with Gimli, it started slowly and then geared all the way up... extremly funny, I especially loved Tracy Jordan moaning that he always wins on Halo

Plus LL Cool J's character saying he'd eat Tracy's family
