I know blu-rays are all the rage nowaday' but I still buy DVD's once in a while especially if its a bargain price.

I bought Zatoichi and a Manga film Vampire Wars for a quid each! Really REALLY loved Zatoichi! Absolutely brilliant stuff from ' Beat' Takashi! So much so that. I think it's now in my top 10 foreign films list.

As for Vampire Wars: some really fun, cheesy Manga fun! Its nice to see vampires which have their roots in space, or alien-vampires so to speak! The English dub is fucking hilarious!

Good choice! I think it's an underrated gem. We all know Ridley's keen eye for detail and style and this film is absolutely beautiful to behold at times - especially the scenes in Vietnam. You feel as if you're transported to the 70's. I bought the 2 disc steelbook edition which I still own. But its well worth the buy especially at 3.

I also forgot to add that I also bought Cowboys and Aliens from the same shop for a quid too! There all second hand but in excellent condition. I finished watching it and I have to say, I was quite underwhelmed by the film. It is enjoyable but you feel it could have been so much more especially with that unique premise. Its almost as if tthe director or the studio's didn't have eenough ball's to go a little more 'deeper'. Its quite a glum film. And the Alien's looked unimaginative. Reminded me of the mutant leader Quato (hope I got the name right!) from Total Recall! But still- worth it for a pound!

Not even going to ask how much this was. It will just depress me considering I paid 60 a pop for the individual season boxes back in the day.

Anyway
