There is some really good work on here.

I'm currently teaching myself how to draw, below are some of my more recent efforts.

All taken with a flash, so the washed out shades and white splodges are not intentional stylistic touches.

My sister wanted me to draw a dragon, so I concocted some kind of lizard man (also Monkey):

Slightly older drawing:

I tend to leave the drawings almost finished or needing touch ups once i've had enough of them. I'm so lazy.

Quint, love the work. Any advice for someone just starting - and struggling - with colour? I've done some rough landscape and portrait experiments with pastels and watercolours but nothing fits together and I end up with a technicolour mess. Is it just a case of practise or is there any particularly good information i'm missing? I know a little about colour theory but when I try to put it in to practise it just looks awful.

Thanks.

Oh the paleman works well. Lovely and fleshy.
The Clark Gable one is excellent, I love how you paint hair, very fluid. I'm thinking of the Brad Pitt portrait with the hair blowing in the wind too.
Look forward to seeing the finished piece of the wee boys.

Thanks
I was going to post here a couple of months back.
I'm glad I came across it yesterday.

I did a degree in illustration at uni and make a living, sporadically.
It's not the best career in the world.
The portraits and digital stuff are just for fun.

Are you planning to make a living through your painting?

Thanks very much sangy, the pans one is done like the seven piece aswell, ill get a photo up soon. Thats cool livila, arts always gonna be tough to make a career from, what kinda stuff do you illustrate - books?. Im goin to LA in september to study film at universal so am trying to crack into the industry through that. Might use my art for storyboarding etc. so should come in handy anyway.
