Couple of new pieces - both for competitions. First one was to create a dragon-like creature that eats mainly tree sap:

Second one was to create a 4 armed brute creature you might find in a game:

Almost there with this one - might do some touch ups if I can be arsed. It's about 3x the size of this but that's too big to post I think.

Looks better full size: http://adamwayneart.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/spacetime.jpg

Another day another pic. This was for a comp where the concept was 'a monster with 3 mouths (one for eating, one as a weapon/defense and one for communicating) that lives in Minnesota. I decided he looks a bit like Sloth from 'Goonies'...

Photobucket is being annoying so I am just posting the link. This is a concept piece for a comp game project:

EDIT - Got Photobucket working again!

I use Photoshop Elements which came free with my Wacom Tablet. I will eventually upgrade to full on Photoshop when I can afford it, but right now Elements works for me. Still pretty new to digital painting (I guess it's just about a year since I started), so I have plenty still to learn. But then, you're always learning with this stuff! What medium do you use?

Photoshop Elements is great.I currently use PE.06 and full Photoshop at times.I sometimes use my Wacom Tablet too,but I tend to feel more comfortable using traditional means and then applying them to Illustrator,Photoshop or only recently Corel Draw, which is a downloaded trial at the minute.

The more older and experienced I get with digital media the more comfortable I feel,as I used to be very unconfident and abit "stuck in my ways" when I was doing some of my illustrations.I also find it refreshing that alot of Digital products are somewhat similiar in there layouts,so the Artist/Creator can find it more easier switching from Adobe products to say Corel.

Yeah Elements works well for me, though I have heard a lot of negative things from people. It's a little more user friendly than Photoshop itself, I think, so it's not a bad way to start out. I know what you mean about drawing on the tablet, I am from the traditional school of art and worked exclusively with pencil and paint for a long time, but I am actually finding myself more confident with digital drawing and painting then I ever was with traditional means - I guess because I can edit/delete/save images really easily on a computer. I still have moments where I miss oil paint though so I actively seek out those jobs whenever I can. Can't beat the look of paint on canvas/board.

Yeah,I have heard the occasional negative feedback but only on the basis that some people look down on it and dont claim it to be anything more than a basic, easy program, which is terribly ignorant and just wrong in my opinion. As long as I,you or anybody can create what they need/want to create out of it then were happy.

I've just recently brought a A3 pad so i'll,hopefully, might crack on to create some works this week.I desperaitly need to improve my portfolio and plus its takes my mind off things, which in these times can only be a plus from where i'm concerned.

I might also go on to advertise now as a freelancer.
Need to create a blog and I might delve onto twitter.

Agreed! If the software works for you then that is all that matters. Definitely worth putting yourself out there as a freelancer - I can't count the amount of people looking for comic book artists on freelance sites I go on. Not something I do, but you might have some fun there! Wordpress is the blog site I use for my portfolio and it was easy to set up. Go for it mate!

Two pics in one day; something's wrong with me... this one is actually an update of an old pencil sketch I did which was posted somewhere earlier in this thread.

Ive been following this guy for years now

http://chapter-56.blogspot.co.uk/

Quints work reminds me of this guy, fantastical digital art. If youve only recently started on the digital stuff I think you have a wonderful future ahead of you.

Obviously his newer pro work is very slick but its the earlier work and his speed paintings which I really enjoy.

Thanks for the comments everyone! borstal, that artist is pretty amazing; I hope one day to be at that level.

Love the poster designs david - I tried your link earlier and it wasn't working fyi...

I just got a job designing trading cards in the fantasy genre (like top trumps with creatures I guess - the sort of thing they play on Big Bang Theory) - so far it's a lot of fun I have to say.

I was clearing out some old files when I came across more of my uni work. I'm not sure I ever posted this which is weird, but here you go! I created a few made up film productions and used my paintings to draft up fake Empire articles to advertise them for one of my uni projects. I did get permission from Empire to do this fyi! This is how Empire looked at the time by the way, and it was my first time using Photoshop so things are a bit rough.

Been going pure digital this week, mainly because 1.I need to improve that aspect of my work, And 2.My tablet was getting dusty.

So I came up with some basic concept character work in the form of a Red Robot called Thingy longing for his Home on the Moon and his poor efforts in getting back ie he currently lives on planet Earth.A basic/simple plot.

Concept-character work:
http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/o/2012/238/c/0/c0d1223c05c90bef0a28684ded8f9ecc.png

Four page first panel work:
http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/o/2012/238/4/9/49561cf146add177be52aff0bafb503f.png

And a piece Illustrating his loneliness and longing for Home.

Great work guys! Really love your new artworks.

Here is a "sneak preview" of my latest piece. It was my first experience using digital and so thought I would share.
