 Looks awesome Ninj! What medium did you use for the hearts? You make really sellable art you know, think you could make a good living from it!

I finally finished what is the most bizarre family portrait I have ever been commissioned. It is a girl summoning the spirits of her grandparents in a native ritual. I hope the mods are ok with some bare lady nipples, otherwise I can make it a link...

Again, thank you. I realise I'm still very much the novice but persistence is key, I feel.

I used craft paper actually and just kept building it up and then masking it with acrylic. It all just consists of acrylic and mixed media really and didn't take long, as the pieces are small. I had itchy hands again and wanted to keep with the craft route, like I had used for my last piece; "My Button Dream". Whilst being in between work.

Yours looks very good and complicated Quint, that must've taken a while. You can tell that it's a very symbolic piece and people like that. Well done you!

 Well it's a very cool and unique effect so nice job. You're right, persistence and practice are key to succeed in most things, but especially art I think. Keep doing what you're doing!

The concept of the work really draws me in and i'm intrigue of the story because of that,which is what great covers/posters are generally good at.
Great work also on the perspective,details and colours.

Thanks mate! Glad it does its job in your eyes (word play). I think the perspective needs a bit of tweaking now that I look at it - the docks look like they are going up hill slightly I think... time to fix it!

 Thanks for the support Ninj, always appreciated! EYES - Yup, I agree, just needs a little tweaking. Johnson - that is already more entertaining than Indy 4 (not saying much I know)!

While I have your attention I wanted to run a design by you; it's a book cover that I posted an extract of earlier in the thread and I was messing with the titles on the cover today and came up with this. The book is about religion (obviously) and the medallion is to do with code breaking apparently so hence the idea. Let me know what you think - is it overkill, does it not read right etc. It's pretty out there design-wise so I won't be offended if you don't dig it. Thanks guys and gals!

Really good quint, excellent in fact, my only slight critisism is its similarity with Nicolas Cage is perhaps too distracting from the rest of the cover. I don't know whether that's intentional or not, perhaps "cheer up" the eyes a bit more?

I was tempted to photoshop a horse's face on instead but I am too lazy. The Nic Cage thing wasn't intentional, but now you've pointed it out, the eyes are haunting me so I'll adjust those! Thanks for the kind words and advice mate!

I'm amazed at the number of talented artists in this thread!

I'm not great at 2D art, but I make quite a lot of stuff. I recently made these guys for a collaborative project reillustrating Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass (they're my take on Alice and the White Queen sheep from Looking Glass).



I made a White Queen too, but the book isn't released until next month so I don't want to go putting all my photos on the internet just yet ;)

I also make party cakes and stuff, but I don't know if that's quite 'arty' enough for this thread!
