I know what you mean, not many people seem to have seen it.  It's a truly superb film and I just love it, it always makes me feel warm inside when I watch it.  A career best for DiCaprio.

 There have already been some great movies mentioned including two of my faves, What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Ginger Snaps
I'd like to nominate...



I think this movie is brilliant yet I don't think many people have heard of it so I always tell everyone I can to watch it. It has a really good storyline and the acting in it is brilliant. Andy Garcia is great as always but I think he is upstaged a little by his co-star Vincent Kartheiser. You probaly won't have heard of him unless you saw him in Angel but his performance is amazing and I think he's the best thing in this movie. It's well worth a watch! 4/5

 Deep Rising, The Rocketeer, The Phantom, Dark Angel (Dolph Lungdrens best!!!), Slither, Shivers, Society, Jason X, Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors, The Monster Squad (Maybe even better than Goonies), They Live, The Crazies (could do with a remake though....), Fletch Lives, Airplane 2, Tango and Cash, The Last Boy Scout (Willis' best non Die Hard film), Repo Man, Payback, Total Recall (or any Arnie sci - fi really)..........off the top of my head.

Nice to see so many of the films I enjoy already mentioned, such as Lawn Dogs,  May, The Big Bus, Reflecting Skin & What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

I'd like to add
Jesus' Son - bought this on a whim. It's one of my favourite films. Billy Crudup and Samatha Morton in 70's tale of disconnected people.
Amateur - my favourite Hal Hartley. It's bizarrely romantic
Lone Star - John Sayles as his storytelling best. Christ Cooper & Kris Kristofferson head up a great cast in this story of fathers and sons.
Immortal - Dystopia Enki Bilal style, very french, raw cgi characters. Beautiful to looks at.

 Not many people seem to know about Breakheart Pass(1975), a fantastic,violent,suspenseful western/action/thriller. Charles Bronson is as cool as they come in the lead,especially in a brutal fight with a hulking brute of a man(played by Archie Moore,former boxing champion) This film has enough twists and turns to keep you interested,I highly recommend it. Even if youre not a Bronson fan.

 Regeneration - Fantastic World War One film focusing on Craiglockhart Hospital and how Dr William Rivers (Jonathan Pryce) treats patients from shell-shock in order to get them back on the frontlines. Harrowing and brutal, it's a masterly examination of humanism and heroism in a time of overwhelming tragedy, thanks to the chance meeting between Sigfreid Sassoon and Wilfred Owen whilst at the hospital who's poetry in the film resonates with a solemn beauty, profound humanity and bleak horror. Masterful stuff...

The Limey - Terrence Stamp as cockney gangster investigating the suspicious death of his daughter in Hollywood. Cue some wonderful observations between the divided cultures of Blighty and America, some serenly beauftuful cinematography and deft time-flipping direction which all builds up to a wonderful pay-off in the final denoumount. Stamp is terrific, as is Peter Fonda as his daughters record producer lover and it all brisks by in a timely and enjoyable fashion. Possibly Steven Soderbergh's best movie, yet very few have heard of, let alone seen it!

What about this one. In The Soup (1992).

It is a black and white indie movie about this struggling filmaker, who has a stroke of luck, when he sells his movie script to a local hood, who in turn wants to produce it. The local hood does not have the money, but he and the filmaker gets the money by less than savoury means. It is a funny and heartwarming movie about the struggles of making the first movie. It is an unsung gem and as always Steve Buscemi is amazing. Also Jennifer Beals looks immense and was very good in her role. But the accolade for scene stealing in every frame he is in is Seymour Cassel.

I never heard of the movie before, but when I saw it in my local library, I thought I would give it a chance

Probably the least-known completely awesome adventure movie ever...
Excellent war drama,featuring an incredible performance from Edward Woodward...
Camp-as-knickers pulp-adventure set to John Philip Sousa marches...So bad it's borderline genius...

I saw this the other day and I was really amazed at how good it was



In a world where Epic Movie and Scary Movie 4 get wide releases I am frankly flabbergasted that this didnt get the wide release it deserved.
Great performnaces by Norton, Rachel Hurd-Wood and one of the Culkin brothers and a really moving last 15 minutes too.
