Interesting interview here:

Sounds like Cascarino is a little out of his depth! [:D]

Olaf -> RE: Chelsea Thread (6/7/2013 11:38:04 AM)

Ugh, those Sky presenters pushing their 'the Premier League is the best league ever/we invented English football' agenda (Abramovich's Chelsea put English football on the map?? I'm presuming those nine European Cups won by English clubs before then don't count). Of course Matthew Syed will never appear on Sky Sports again, but I'm glad he made them squirm on this occasion at least by simply telling the truth.

Skiba -> RE: Chelsea Thread (6/7/2013 6:22:41 PM)

Clubs being bought for political reasons is truth now is it? Syed claims buying Chelsea gives him protection against Putin...if Putin wanted to nail RA, he would. Not sure what evidence Syed has that Putin is after RA.

Big Tony's face trying to get his non-point across was pretty funny! [:D]

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (17/7/2013 1:09:32 PM)

Manchester United reject Chelsea's bid of £10m plus their pick of either Juan Mata or David Luiz for Wayne Rooney.

Uh no, fuck off. [:'(]

Sinatra -> RE: Chelsea Thread (17/7/2013 1:17:20 PM)

Chelsea have released a statement saying that the offer did not include the loan or sale of a Chelsea player to Utd.

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (17/7/2013 1:27:55 PM)

I hope thatís true because offering Mata or Luiz to anyone would be madness, offering it for a player who needs to lose the flab, get fit and stop being a childish mardy arse is stupid as fuck.

Goodfella -> RE: Chelsea Thread (17/7/2013 1:31:54 PM)

United have trolled you superbly here, pretty standard behaviour for the club in manipulating situations back in their favour.

Personally, I am not so easily convinced into everything United claim about Rooney, and if he's going anywhere I hope he ends up at the Bridge so we can at least keep him in the PL and hopefully go some way to transforming him back into the player he once was for England.

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (17/7/2013 1:36:48 PM)

That's the Rooney I would happily sign (not in exchange for Mata, Hazard, Oscar or Luiz mind) but certainly for more than ten million. Right now though our cash offer seems generousÖ [;)][:D]

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (17/7/2013 7:22:20 PM)

Rooney or bust? [sm=dry.gif]

Doesn't that just taunt Wenger into making a bid for Wayne to leave Jose looking like a tit?

Goodfella -> RE: Chelsea Thread (18/7/2013 7:14:01 PM)

Which England team does Jose Mourinho watch then? We've been picking second-choice club players for quite some time now....

Professor Moriarty -> RE: Chelsea Thread (1/8/2013 1:25:40 PM)

Big news on the signing front nth choice goalkeeper Hilario signs a new one year deal.

You've got to admire the wit he must bring to the dressing room. He said: "I'm really pleased to be part of this great squad and I'm looking forward to working once again with Jose Mourinho."

20 appearances over 7 seasons, I don't know if that fits many definitions of work [:D]

If Winstone Bogarde had gloves...[:D]

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (3/8/2013 7:39:30 AM)

To be fair to ole Hilario those 20 matches are in the League and he had a good time with them and a couple of performances in other competitions were pretty good including Barcelona (on debut) and later FenerbahÁe both clean sheets with the latter leading to speculation of a National call up.

During his run (18 matches) in 2006/2007 we only lost one game, in late 2007 he played six matches and Chelsea didnít lose. He did us proud in the 2009/2010 League Cup (lost on penalties to Blackburn in the 5th) and the FA Cup (he was replaced for the semi-final and final of 2010). A Man of the match performance against Liverpool (2009) did get him a call up for Portugal and he eventually made a start for his country in 2010 at the tender age of 34, not bad for a third choice freely signed goalkeeper.

Heís only made 3 appearances (1 loss 2 wins) since August 2010 but he must be doing something right (or is a clever so and so) to get an extension of his contract, maybe he makes awesome cakes and shit. [:D]

Professor Moriarty -> RE: Chelsea Thread (19/8/2013 1:12:55 PM)

I didn't get to see any of the game. Was Mata injured or is it that he really doesn't fit into Jose's set-up?

Injured.
Mourinho will find a space for Mata.

Sinatra -> RE: Chelsea Thread (19/8/2013 2:09:39 PM)

without a doubt,,, can't wait to see Mata back! [:)]

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (21/8/2013 9:15:06 PM)

Ba is really poor.

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (21/8/2013 9:45:03 PM)

Yes because Chelsea are responsible for the RefereeÖ[8|]

Mourinho doesn't rate Mata, he thinks he's too slow.

galvatron -> RE: Chelsea Thread (21/8/2013 9:50:58 PM)

Ivanovic was lucky to stay on the field after that elbow, don't see how that was any less of a crime than Taylor's on Monday.

galvatron -> RE: Chelsea Thread (24/8/2013 12:25:01 PM)

Chelsea to sign Willian, waiting on the work permid. Any Chelsea fans have any idea where and when he's going to play?

So far this is my list of people in Chelsea's squad who can play in an attacking midfield position: Mata, Hazard, Oscar, De Bruyne, Schurrle, Marin, Willian, Lukaku, Ba, Ramires, Bertrand. All of them have played as one of the three behind the striker at some point. Can't see how they can all be kept happy!

OPEN YOUR EYES -> RE: Chelsea Thread (24/8/2013 12:54:47 PM)

I see something like this.
------------GK--------
DR-------DC--DC-----DL
---Oscar----Ramires---
Hazard---Mata---Willian
--------------ST-----------

I think some will be happy with the rotation for this season but give it this time next year I reckon some might be pulling up a (rightful) fuss.

impqueen -> RE: Chelsea Thread (24/8/2013 12:55:44 PM)

I have no idea and right now I'm completely disinterested (unless it means curtains for Mata our Player of the Season Two Years Running and if it does [:'(]), it seems to me to be a case of buying so Spurs can't which is a waste of time and money.

Olaf -> RE: Chelsea Thread (25/8/2013 2:38:23 PM)

-----Ramsey--Arteta----------
Di Maria--Mata--Cazorla
-------------Giroud---------------

Would signing Ramsey,Arteta,Cazorla,Di Maria and Giroud really improve Chelsea?[8|]

Olaf -> RE: Chelsea Thread (25/8/2013 3:01:04 PM)

Giroud's better than Torres and Ba, surely.

He's better than Chelsea Torres and Ba. If he went to Chelsea then he wouldn't be. Chelsea is where strikers go to die, which is why I'm surprised Moyes won't let Rooney go there.
