No problem - I had the Boys Don't Cry, but couldn't get the "kir" bit - I just used "c" as it was the first letter (or starter/aperitif[:D])

frankj -> Guess The Movie (24/10/2007 12:29:12 AM)

Never even crossed my mind... you find depths I never knew I had![:D]

mfj fratelli -> RE: Guess The TV series (24/10/2007 1:09:21 AM)

6. Repo Man (Rip Oman) or (Reap Oman)?

The other two have driven me absolutely batty. Thousands of permutations have clouded the ol' grey matter.

Manna. Bit. Cameo. Eucharist. Minor. Gigolo. Sacrament. Hugo. Jorge. Reyes. Hogan. David. Banner. Bill. Kill. Bixby. Lou. Ferrigno. Murder. Hang. Shoot. Terry. Bollea.

Will someone make sense out of all this madness?!!! I'm dyin' over here. [sm=sad.gif]

My compliments to the chef though. These portions have been scrumptious, filling, and reasonably priced. If only I could figure out what I was eating. [sm=893banghead-thumb.gif][sm=893banghead-thumb.gif][sm=893banghead-thumb.gif]

Surely you know me better than that - the solution will sound exactly like the title...[sm=05.gif]

You're still in the game, emo!

frankj -> Guess The Movie (24/10/2007 6:30:39 PM)

Slight edit to clue 1...

1. A role playing heavenly bread!
6. Pull with force. SE Arabian peninsula country.
7. Tell Hurley to execute TV Hulk

You sure?

8 Boyce/Dough/Wint/Kir/Ry - "Cassis aperitif"

Positive now? Do you pronounce 'don't' as 'doughwint'? And 'cry' as 'keer-rye'? [sm=33.gif]

Absolutely![sm=box2.gif]

Every single vowel and consonant sound is presented in sequence, and the cumulative effect when said aloud will form the movie title, dammit!

Howevah... I take your point with kir.
When I included it, I was pronouncing the clue with my splendidly thick scottish accent - I'd forgotten that foreigners say "keeeeer"[:D]

EDIT: Actually, now I think about it, that probably applies to "doughwint" as well (which is exactly how we scots pronounce "don't").
Knickers.

Point taken, and apology offered. I'll try to make things a bit more... estuary in future.[sm=05.gif]

Still - "Yankoman"?
Sounds like a superhero who keeps touching himself.[sm=ohmy.gif]

(Man, so many smilies to confirm that I mean no offence!
Given the tone and intelligence of your posts, homer, I'm sure you know that anyway - but you can't be too careful here in Cybersville.
I've managed to upset someone online before by offering a completely sincere compliment - he assumed I was being sarcastic, and threw me into a well-meaning panic!)

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (25/10/2007 12:52:29 AM)

Reposted for convenience...

1. A role playing heavenly bread!
6. Pull with force. SE Arabian peninsula country.
7. Tell Hurley to execute TV Hulk

homersimpson_esq -> RE: Guess The Movie (25/10/2007 8:37:59 AM)

'Estuary'? Why you little... *queue choking noises*... [:D]

I think we have a winner with Yankoman. Sounds like a possible next movie for those South Park boys...

Now I know you're Scottish (I may already have known this and forgotten - I do that...) when ah get part o' a clue, ah'll read et in a sco'ish ahcsint.[;)]

Me too.

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (25/10/2007 6:14:32 PM)

mfj fratelli's post above (#1537) contains 3 accurate guesses...

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (26/10/2007 10:51:13 PM)

Should I leave them a bit longer, or drop a few hints?

Peppermint -> RE: Guess The Movie (26/10/2007 11:03:58 PM)

Give us the hints, dammit [:D]

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (28/10/2007 1:05:40 AM)

For the first part of number 6 (the second part's been correctly solved, by the way!)...

how would you describe the action of moving the first part of homer's most recent guess?

nomimalone -> RE: Guess The Movie (28/10/2007 10:46:40 AM)

6 - Hollow Man (haul-Oman)

[sm=worship.gif]

Probably the only variation on "pull" I didn't try.[:D]

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (30/10/2007 2:01:39 AM)

Two to go (with a change to number 7 for the sake of lemon-squeezy)...

1. A role playing heavenly bread!
7. Execute TV Hulk, Ms Hurley

mfj fratelli hit the nail on the head once for 1, and twice for 7- see post #1537

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (1/11/2007 12:27:17 AM)

[sm=augen14.gif] - nobody?

Gimli The Dwarf -> RE: Guess The Movie (1/11/2007 1:29:16 AM)

At least it isn't just me that hasn't got a clue! I've been scratching my head and I just can't think of anything worthwhile.

frankj -> RE: Guess The Movie (1/11/2007 2:34:06 AM)

More clues?

Peppermint -> RE: Guess The Movie (1/11/2007 4:31:30 PM)

You know, I wish you'd stop asking if we want clues and just post some [:D]
