What did he fall he looked like he slipped on something. Alonso did well not pissing himself with laughing as I would of

pablodiabloescobar -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (9/1/2006 1:02:53 AM)

need that clip for my phone

MOTH -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (9/1/2006 10:41:47 AM)

see some lad had 200 at 125-1 that Alonso would score from his own half this season - i'd say he's a happy punter this morning!
i'd also say he would've killed Gerrard if Alonso had passed to him instead of shooting!

Dozy McGrew -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (9/1/2006 1:41:59 PM)

Pompey it is! I see Millwall got Chelsea. Snigger.

jediwarrior -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (9/1/2006 2:17:18 PM)

I knew we get a tough away game. I said it in the office this morning.

Still could well have a chance of being on TV with that one

HIM -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (11/1/2006 11:58:59 PM)

Liverpool v Pompey has been rescheduled to Sunday 29th January

Great news as it means the game will be screened live by the BBC at 6:00 p.m.[sm=happy34.gif]

I see on the Liverpool website that we have finally signed a Centre Half. 21 year old Daniel Agger from bromby for about 5 million. [:)]

At last we have cover for the back.

Well done Rafa!!  Now if we can get the right sided winger we will be alright.

Its just seems we always do bad away to Portsmouth. If we were at home I would say no problems we would win it easy

phizchap -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (12/1/2006 3:51:09 PM)

All done, couldn't bring myself to vote for Kronkamp though, plumped for Cafu, amazing for a bloke his age.

HIM -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (14/1/2006 5:21:53 PM)

Fookin' get in there! [:D]

1 point behind Manure with two games in hand! Second place is ours!

jediwarrior -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (14/1/2006 10:07:39 PM)

Very good win. Gives us a little space between 3rd and 4th.

Now for the big one next Sunday against Man Utd. If we win that we will go 2nd.

HIM -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (14/1/2006 10:23:50 PM)

Christ if we win that we'll be 2 points ahead with two games still in hand! That's a possible 8 point gap over Manure.

I reckon another draw's on though. United always seem to raise their game against us, well apart from earlier this season's drab affair. I really, really hope we tank 'em at Old Trafford but I fear we'll be on the end of a backlash after the Manchester derby defeat. Reckon they could do to us what they did to Chelski ealier this season.

Rob -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 12:39:28 PM)

Top result at the weekend and what a fooking goal.  Really chuffed that Kewell is playing well at the moment.

Very excited about the the next game albeit with a twinge of apprehension

phizchap -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 12:42:30 PM)

Me too, but i always am, i was thinking player for player, Liverpool's back 4 are better than Utd's, and i think Liverpool's midfield is better, the only place where we lose is up front.

Rob -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 12:47:35 PM)

Agreed I think it's the one area that needs some serious improving.  We do miss an out and out goal poacher.  Cisse seems to sulk if things don't go his way, Nando hasn't started firing yet (I pray he will but getting more and more concerned) and although Crouch is playing well he's not a Van Nistelroy or Owen type player and that's what I think we need.

Ah well it's still a joy at the moment.

True, but then Chelski could have said exactly the same thing earlier this season. United always seem to raise their game against the big teams and although I loved City thumping United on Saturday I can't help but apprehensive that it'll spur them on even more on Sunday.

Also, on the subject of pacey forwards, what does everyone think of the rumours linking Liverpool with a possible for Jermaine Defoe? I'm personally a big fan of his and he's probably the closest thing to Owen available.

Dozy McGrew -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 3:30:08 PM)

Apart from Owen himself who, lets face it is more than likely going to be signing for us again in the Summer.

HIM -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 3:35:27 PM)

You reckon? [sm=33.gif]

He's Newcastle's prize asset and they've only just paid 17million for him so I doubt they'll want to let him go so soon or for much less than they paid. Which again will price us out of a move.

Dozy McGrew -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 3:38:49 PM)

Ah yes but don't forget he's got a buy out clause of 12m in his contract. He'll be back there's no way little Mickey will stay at that pile of crap.

Rob -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (16/1/2006 3:43:44 PM)

I'd love to see Owen back but not convinced it will happen but I hope Dozy is right.

If not Defoe would be a welcome addition in my opinion.  Fast, skillful and could form a great / visually amusing duo with Pedro Crouch.

phizchap -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (17/1/2006 12:45:42 PM)

I'd prefer Defoe to Owen now to be honest younger, hungrier and i don't think he's as injury prone either, i'm not slating Owen, he's a hero, just never go back, i know it worked with Rush, but he's an exception.

pablodiabloescobar -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (19/1/2006 1:26:09 AM)

I reckon we'll have real bother this weekend from United. The cynical (realistic) LFC fan in me is thinking that now we are so close to the scum we will fuck it up (especially with our next few fixtures that include Chelsea and Arsenal) but i'm hoping beyond hope that i'm wrong.

This may be a kiss of death but if we do beat United on Sunday i will be (almost) as happy as when we beat Chelsea n the CL semi final last season. It would be a major major achievment.

On another note. has anyone checked ou thte LFC website this week? Theres a week dedicated to Steven Gerrard with some great interviews and articles.

phizchap -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (19/1/2006 3:53:02 PM)

I'm alway's worried when Liverpool play Utd, always expext to lose, and if we get anything out of the game, then that's a major bonus, and i have checked the website, i do so everyday.

jediwarrior -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (23/1/2006 9:14:10 AM)

Cisse pack your bags pal because you are gone at the end of the season.

God he was so crap yesterday no wonder he spends most of the time on the subs bench

phizchap -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (23/1/2006 12:18:21 PM)

Too true, he pissed me right off yesterday, it seems all he can do is twat the ball as hard as he can, Benitez must take a bit of blame too, he hardly ever starts him so why yesterday, Cisse just proved why he doesn't pick him.

HIM -> RE: Liverpool - 2005/06 (29/1/2006 3:28:58 PM)

According to the press it'll be an unchanged Liverpool side - yes that means Cisse is starting. Although SkySports.com are saying that Stevie G and Carra will be rested, with Agger and Hamann coming in.
