He's definately better than he gets credit for - a cut above all other action stars apart from Willis - but good?

He's 60 today in case your interested!

jimminycrickets -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:37:38 PM)

Happy Birthday, Sly. Good times.

BobaJango -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:41:04 PM)

One unpopular opinion of mine is that Vinnie Jones isn't actually the worst actor alive. Sure he is pretty crap and i'm not denying that, but he has his moments and is (mostly) good at the limited amount of roles he can play. For example in Lock, Stock. Picture the scene with him smashing that guy's head in the car door, which then cuts to slow-motion. Could any actor on the planet have made that scene any scarier?

jimminycrickets -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:44:14 PM)

He's passable in The Big Bounce, too.

BobaJango -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:44:55 PM)

Just don't mention X-Men 3!

target -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:49:38 PM)

I havent seen X-3 yet, im waiting for the dvd.

Am i in for a good night or a disappointing one?

jimminycrickets -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:50:58 PM)

Average.

pettsy -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:53:47 PM)

Depends what you thought of the first two, I think.  If you marvelled at how Singer invested both with a warmth and depth so often lacking in blockbuster movies, whilst preserving the legend of X-Men...you may cry.  But as a popcorn flick, it's probably alright.

darthbane -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 7:54:21 PM)

Any given sunday was Al Pacino's best performance in the last 10 years.
Fuckin great movie as well[:)]

I'm not a big fan of X:3 but i was only refering to Jones' "performance" with my post!

Seconded, but the sequel was just awful.

Also

Charlies Angels was good, and the sequel was Amazing

A I is a masterpiece

Halloween is overated

Last House On The Left was awful

The Searchers was boring

Laurance Of Arabia is too long and gets boring

Brief Encounter is David Leans best film

Ben Affleck can act ( see Chasing Amy, Good Will Hunting, Shakespeare In Love, Daredevil: Directers Cut, Bounce)

I am brimming full with Knowledge[:D]

Veronica Mars is the greatest show on TV
War of the Worlds (2005) is a lousy movie

jimminycrickets -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 8:19:19 PM)

I don't mind Affleck, either.

I reckon he's only good (well better than usual) in a Kevin Smith film.

furrybastard -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 8:24:03 PM)

A.I. is quite possibly Spielberg's best film and will be seen as a sci-fi mastepiece in the years to come.

Napoleon Dynamite was semi decent but was really just a Rushmore tribute film; the direction and look of the two films are almost identical.

Hulk is a good film and the short attention span of an audience is not grounds for criticism of the film itself.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a fun, enjoyable action film.

V For Vendetta was an awful, stupid film with huge potential. Anyone who thinks it was intelligent has never read a book or thought for themselves once in ther entire lives. I'm sorry, it was just terrible.

X-Men 3 could have been good if not for the terrible script, direction and everythign else. All the potential was there lurking underneath the crap.

The Lord of the Rings triloy was a massive achievment and will be remembered and enjoyed for years to come. They deserve all the praise that they get even if Jackson's succeeding films never reach the same level.

George Lucas was once a good director. He no longer is, though he may have just been out of practice with the PT because there are some (though too few) really great moments (Duel of the Fates in TPM is one of the best things in all 6 films. If only the film wasn't so crap and the one great thing abotu it is interspersed with Jar Jar and that annoying kid)

There is nothing wrong with sentimentality or happy endings in films.

Tarantino is getting better and better at directing but worse and worse as a writer.

Any film with Tom Waits in it is automatically improved by 50%.

Batman Returns is better than Batman. Even I'm upset about this one [&:]

Watchmen should not be made into a film no matter what the justifications put forth by anyone.

Totally Agree with these.

Maybe with a few people on this site but that's not really worth considering when you think of the vast amount of fans that the films have.

Naweed_1 -> RE: YOUR UNPOPULAR OPINION!! (6/7/2006 8:49:47 PM)

Gigli aint as bad as the critics said it was, it's a solid two star film.

I am sorry, but I just don't feel the films are that good. FOTR was very good, but TT was far too long and the acting was very hammy...same with ROTK.

Real The Lord of the Rings fans carry big (Fake) knives, but they are mostly away larping (live action role playing) in a field somewhere and it is easy to wire trap there houses before there return. my housemate way back was a larper and faked himself getting beaten up, to throw away suspicion that he was funding a covert operation, he had made bruises on his face...
Empire L.O.R fans tend to be less strange.
infact most larpers tend to be less strange than my old housemate, i have been to italy and other parts of turkey and people are playing it there also.
any Larpers online?

While the hardcore fans are still there, I've seen an upsurge in the general disdain from everyday people and in magazines/media too.

But yes, it was mostly directed at forum users. [:D]
