Timon -> SeaQuest DSV - What Went Wrong? (6/6/2006 5:06:30 PM)

Let's face it. SeaQuest DSV was essentially 'Star Trek Underwater' but it was still an intriguing premise and it had Steven Spielberg executive producing. [image]http://seaquestdsvharbor.builtfree.org/_webimages/Chris%20and%20seaQuest%20Crew%20Final.jpg[/image] It had a solid cast including Roy Scheider, Ted Raimi and Stephanie Beechman but eventually it was canned after 3 years despite several name and cast changes. Michael Ironside was the final captain. Like Trek, it had the 'understanding humans' in the form of a talking dolphin called Darwin but as the series progressed it got more 'New Agey' with the addition of Dagwood, a prototype GELF (Genetically Engineered Life Form), Tony Piccolo, a man with surgically implanted gills, and Dr. Wendy Smith, a telepath/empath, to its crew of specialists. Personally, i prefered the show when it was dealing with enviromental/history elements rather than mystical stuff like ghosts and underwater aliens but that's just me. And who else was shocked when Jonathan 'Lucas' Brandis hung himself?
