bereski -> Well (25/2/2013 5:28:57 AM)

Time for a change of your rating to 5 stars, you like refreshing your opinions, don't you?

TheEntertainment_87 -> Hmmmm (25/2/2013 7:22:19 AM)

With the gongs spread around like this, I wonder if the Academy was feeling a bit torn about whether anything was truly exceptional or if they felt it was a really great year so many films deserved a bit of love... I guess it's an excuse to try and see more of the nominated films to see what all of the fuss is about though :-)

ronniem -> Better than last few years (25/2/2013 8:50:43 AM)

So happy Ang Lee got the nod...Life of Pi is a masterful piece of work...and also chuffed Ben Affleck still won something when he should have been nominated in the Best Director race in the first place.

Dannybohy -> RE: Better than last few years (25/2/2013 10:24:00 AM)

How the hell did Hathaway get an Oscar!! especially for her brief and hammy performance in Les Mis!. wow! just wow!. So glad Waltz got the Oscar! well deserved and I predict not his last either!! :)

Normal Control -> Dredd should've won everything (25/2/2013 10:50:56 AM)

even Best Documentary Short.

dannyfletch -> Robbery (25/2/2013 4:13:20 PM)

I guess the Oscars is a bit of a snobby affair to say the least and yet again some of the years best films have been rudely ignored!
Films that are a bit out there like the excellent Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, even though I'm a big fan of Day Lewis I do feel that Pheonix deserved the Oscar for his excellent unhinged performance as a troubled drifter. Maybe there are too many Scientologists at the top who frown upon the portrayal in the modern masterpiece as it wasn't even nominated for best screenplay or film!
Also where was the excellent French pic Rust and Bone? A far better film than the tiresome Silver Linings Playbook and Marion Cotillard definitely deserved more recognition than Jennifer Lawrence's over the top and hammy performance!
And on one last note, Emmanuel Riva was robbed of a much deserved Oscar, her performance in the excellent and touching Amour was miles above that of the winner Lawrence!
Well at least Waltz deservedly won best supporting actor and Tarantino got some recognition for the excellent Django Unchained.

Mr Gittes -> RE: Robbery (25/2/2013 4:15:41 PM)

Well, at least she tripped when going up to accept the award.

Whistler -> (25/2/2013 6:55:12 PM)

I watched the whole thing, I had a great time, MacFarlane was a good host, I'm happy with all the winners - even the surprises - and there's nothing to moan about.

Wild about Wilder -> RE: (26/2/2013 10:43:51 AM)

Wondered if it was ever going to end what with all the singing was more like the Grammys or Tonnys than the Oscars.
Though nice bit of lipsinking by Zeta-Jones. [;)]

Hobbit & Dark Knight Rises snubbed. Fuck the Oscars!

dannyfletch -> RE: (26/2/2013 9:58:42 PM)

Good point! The Hobbit was visually much better than the terrible CGI in Life of Pi!

Pelle -> (27/2/2013 8:33:53 PM)

Argo is the Forrest Gump of CIA thrillers.

rian88 -> RE: (28/2/2013 4:45:13 AM)

It deserves that title, I think it's a good work action.

Pottmann -> RE: RE: (3/3/2013 12:07:20 AM)

I cant say that it is best picture of a year, though it is one of best five. So, it desereves Oscar, probably.
