Just as a point of possible interest, there is a shot in the trailer of two characters crossing a railway track at night that is lifted straight out of The Lost Boys. It's composed and lit exactly the same so mabey it's an influence on the director. The Lost Boys had Max, the head vampire, who wanted to roll Corey Haim's family in with his own 'Boys' - it also appears to be a possible theme for Stoker.
