Wether the Ron Howard film was a success or not, shouldn't matter. Nobody can be (or voice over) the Grinch like Jim Carrey. surely he'll be asked to provide the voice over!!

Love the book and my kids do to but there is not enough to make a feature film out of it. Illumination have a horrific habit of populating the movie with identical cute critters to flog more toys, flying in the face of the core message of the book.

This is a terrible idea - Illuminations movies are just noise and really lack heart.

I think anyone can be the voice of the Grinch to be honest. Carrey wasn't the first and as it is based on a character of a book, it doesn't really have a voice to emulate. He may still get the gig though, so you never know [:)]
