Doesn't work

bnicholson50 -> Not Working. Try Youtube Link (17/12/2012 5:48:25 PM)

IamtheGoblin -> Looks good. (17/12/2012 5:49:25 PM)

Looks very, very good. Still don't think Cumberbatch is Khan though.

acertree -> He's Khan (17/12/2012 5:59:03 PM)

Fantastic teaser and the 9 mins were even better. Cumberbatch oozes confidence. Love it. Looks to me like Chekov is a gonner.

Garet6 -> (17/12/2012 7:37:51 PM)

Gotta say, I'd have thought WETA would do a better job with the CGI make-up. Cumberbatch doesn't look anything like a dragon in this trailer.

Simon124 -> Man of steel music? (17/12/2012 8:46:08 PM)

Sound a lot like the Superman trailer with Costner/ Crowe giving a similar speech

Porter -> Empire's assuming Pike's talking to Kirk... (17/12/2012 10:28:44 PM)

...I think he's talking to Cumberbatch. This dude works for Starfleet, I tells ya! He's the evil mirror of Kirk and, in a wrath of khan homage and switcheroo JJ's gonna off Kirk instead of Spock and the third film's gonna be the Search for Kirk! Think I'm wrong? I've seen it! a dream.

Cameron1975Williams -> With all respect to Mr Cumberbatch, he's not right for Khan... (17/12/2012 11:58:28 PM)

The character of Khan has to be a masculine alpha-male, who's catnip to the ladies and is believeable as a man 'who held power over millions'. He's a remnant from an obsolete patriarchal society, and he'd be attractive to the women of the 23rd century because of his rugged, unrefined masculinity. Standing in stark contrast to the well-behaved, clean-cut, momma's boys of Starfleet. He's essentially the ultimate bad boy. The guy the daughter brings home to upset her parents. In other words, he can't be a white English guy, with a private shool education. I urge everybody to [re]watch the Space Seed episode. Khan's seduction of an Enterprise crew member is one of the finest scenes in television history. Benecio Del Toro would be perfect. I hope they get him.

Dave25 -> Maybe not Khan but... (18/12/2012 6:00:34 AM)

He might be one of the other genetic supermen working for Khan, there is a shot in the trailer of some oddly (old fashioned?) dressed people walking away from what looks like a bank of pods/coffins? Possibly the cryo pods Khan and his cronies were put into after the Eugenics wars?

ChesterCopperpot -> BAH! (18/12/2012 8:22:00 AM)

Fucking Quicktime. It's the shittest media player of them all yet movie studios seem determined to make you install this dreadful piece of software, only for it to then not let you view the content anyway.

Youtube motherfuckers! Sod Apple!

rwoo -> There is only one logical explanation (18/12/2012 8:51:34 AM)

Who else could bear so much anger and hatred for this Federation? Who could be so hell-bent on causing this widescale destruction - of ships and even on Earth? Who else has cause for such vengeance?

Cumberbatch is clearly playing a die-hard fanboy who considers the re-boot as sacrilege.

Elementary, my dear Trekkers.

chris wootton -> (18/12/2012 9:25:50 AM)

If it is someone new (John Harrison), I guess it's going to be a bit of anti-climax isn't it? especially with a high percentage of people thinking it's Khan..

Holbydude -> I agree with Dave25... (18/12/2012 10:10:27 AM)

....those pods..could hold supermen.....If we see a new Khan emerge from one of those pods, that would be awesome. There's talk that we are going to see Klingons (That shot of the Enterprise in space needs freeze framing (1.16)..Another ship in the background? Klingon?) All in all, this looks awesome!

Scruffybobby -> RE: I agree with Dave25... (18/12/2012 10:17:42 AM)

Didn't Karl Urban already let slip who the villain was a few months back? Denials swiftly followed but I'm not surehow convinced I am by them. Then again it could all be part of an elaborate plan..

Trailer looks great BTW

Wild about Wilder -> RE: I agree with Dave25... (18/12/2012 10:27:29 AM)

The way he & Kirk looked at each other at the end plus the mention of family has me thinking?

jcthefirst -> RE: I agree with Dave25... (18/12/2012 12:26:24 PM)

There was a Klingon Bird of Prey/Warbird in there, wasn't there?

Can't remember my Trek ship names at the minute.

steve_kozian -> RE: New Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser (18/12/2012 12:32:17 PM)

Would it be beyond JJ to "kill" off Kirk in a cruel twist of fate. Only to then explore the methods of reintroducing Kirk in a 3rd movie that would perhaps form part of a JJ Star Trek Trilogy - his swan song much the same as Nolans Batman reinvention??  Ending his trilogy with the resurrection of Kirk and not of Spock. Its not without merit.  He has certainly started off the series in the first movie by disrupting a whole timeline and creating an alternate universe and arguably, alternate universes have the same characters and situations but all acted out differently in each version?  Perhaps in JJ's version, he will use it to build a climatic twist that will push forward into a larger darker third film ending his re-invention of the Star Trek world??

There are elements in all the clips that can tie together to perhaps lead me to believe so.  The mention of family for one, the hands through the glass as another?  Certainly Wrath was very much to do with family - kirks introduction to his own son and his subsequent death in the Search for Spock and thus developing Kirks own hatred towards Klingons??

Or maybe, as JJ always does, he has thrown us a great curve ball hyping us all up into a frenzy and infact will find some other means to blow us all out of the water.  Regardless i for one am waited with very much bated breathe to see this!

Red_eye00 -> Not Khan but... (22/12/2012 6:07:17 PM)

Maybe they rebooted Gary Mitchell to be someone before Kirk but both Spock and Pike knew, and the speech is from Pike to Cumberbatch (flashback)? Mission goes wrong, crew perished except Cumberbatch who returns after some possible augmentations looking for revenge.
