Jamie_M -> Where on earth is Game of Thrones for best show?? (13/12/2012 6:18:23 PM)

The Blackwater episode alone deserves an award. Boardwalk Empire's season 3 was overall disappointing except for the last couple of episodes. Homeland is going down hill quickly, season 2 is so boring (Claire Danes is growing so irritating). As great as Breaking Bad is, it still only aired half a season this year,, even Downton Abbey gets the nod ahead of Game of Thrones, Shocking!!!

I was expecting to see Game of Thrones too, oh well...

No Best Director this year?

englishlion21 -> No Hans Zimmer?! (13/12/2012 10:23:19 PM)

Cannot believe Hans Zimmer hasnt been nominated for best score!

The TV nominations are a joke. The same names year in, year out. No nominations for Game of Thrones (the best show by far) or Community? The Golden Globes lack credibility.

Completely agree with the general apathy towards these. No Game of Thrones is an absolute shocker, but also, what about The Walking Dead? The second half of season 2 and the first half of season 3 have both been excellent. Not sure how The Newsroom got nominated either, as much as I loved both The West Wing and Studio 60 I didn't make it beyond the first two episodes.

Also, can someone explain why Jessica Lange is nominated in the mini-series category for American Horror Story: Asylum? Surely a show with 12 episodes per series doesn't count as a mini-series? Or am I missing something?

Just what criteria do they use for best Comedy/Musical movie anyway? Out of the non-musical nominees, I wouldn't even term any one of those true comedies let alone being LOL funny. If you're going to have a best comedy section surely it has to be the funniest movie? For me Ted was the funniest movie this year. Sure it's low brow but it was the best comedy.

Bleaz79 -> Director Noms Missed? (14/12/2012 1:50:31 AM)

And the nominations for Best Director are -
Ben Affleck - Argo
Kathryn Bigelow - Zero Dark Thirty
Ang Lee - Life Of Pi
Steven Spielberg - Lincoln
Quentin Tarantino - Django Unchained
I'm thinking Ang Lee for this one!

Max Krause -> Weaver (16/12/2012 12:24:00 AM)

I am glad to see that Sigourney got her 7th Globes nod for Political Animals. Good luck!
