Victor9098 -> He'll be back (one way or another) (9/11/2012 12:44:09 AM)

Looking pretty good. OK...I am a bit sick of parents in movie's doing the whole I'll be back thing (will never forgive them for War of the Worlds) so fingers crossed that aspect is not too insufferable.

stupidfathobbit -> (9/11/2012 12:53:44 AM)

One of my all-time favourite books. Movie looks nothing like it but hell, it's got zombie-tsunamis so what's not to love? Won't make me love the book less and it looks like I'm going to enjoy the movie. Win-win.

jordieb -> CGI WTF! (9/11/2012 1:27:19 AM)

Like many I am a big fan of the book, and I accepted early on that due to the structure of the book the film would be very different. That trailer however has left me MASSIVELY underwhelmed. The CGI zombies look awful, painfully reminding me of the annoying creatures in I Am Legend, It might surprise me, but Its looking to be the film you'd expect from the man who gave us Quantum of Solace.

Martypants -> Glasgow (9/11/2012 1:59:14 AM)

Very amusing to see George Square in Glasgow doubling for America. If it's anything like Quantum of Solace the pacing will be all over the place and lacking in any real tension. Looks like it might be a hoot though...

ChicksHands -> 3 star trailer 2 star film? (9/11/2012 2:12:43 AM)

I love the idea of these films being potentially great but how many of them really are? I'm almost in my mid-thirties and my patients are wearing thin with wasting my bucks on summer block busters that don't cut it.
Maybe I'm just outside the demographic.
Anyways what can you do, people in the film industry are just so much better than normal humans. Right?

mclane1 -> absolutely brilliant (9/11/2012 5:48:02 AM)

as ive said, i love the book but dont care if this is faithful. it looks just awesome, absolutely cant wait!

waltham1979 -> Why call it World War Z? (9/11/2012 8:45:45 AM)

Personally I think it looks f*cking awful. So bitterly disappointed...damn you Forster and Pitt!!!!!

jmebaby25 -> RE: World War Z Trailer Invades The Web (9/11/2012 8:52:39 AM)

My rule of thumb is to see anything that Pitt is in and I'm rarely disappointed.

However, the CGI "Zombies" look absolutely terrible. Awful. Awwwfffullll. Did nobody learn their lesson from I Am Legend?!

A lot of great zombie moments come from recognising that these monsters used to be people, but by making them a blurring, massive wave of CGI takes away from that. Hopefully it's just a poor trailer and the rest of the film makes up for it.

Dannybohy -> RE: World War Z Trailer Invades The Web (9/11/2012 8:53:58 AM)

Looking forward to this!!! 28 days later on steroids!! oh yehh

bereski -> throng (9/11/2012 9:02:22 AM)

Great CGI

petejwheeldon -> Looks Good (9/11/2012 9:07:23 AM)

Not sure is whatching what, but just watched it on a big screen and it looked impressive, CGI zombies worked well, making the point that they react like ants rather than people, climbing over each other without concern for their welfare.

willy2fly -> A bit of common sense required... (9/11/2012 9:23:41 AM)

Theres a number of posts on here crying about the use of CGI in this upcoming film. Let me put that into perspective. WWZ deals with MILLIONS OF ZOMBIES, not a few, not a hundred or a thousand.... MILLIONS. How on earth are the producers supposed to create a sense of epic scale without the use of CGI zombies? Use your heads people. Also, the book as writen is UNFILMABLE and i think this 'take' on it (it is a take NOT verbatim) is looking very exciting indeed. Pitt doesnt put his name to rubbish (that often anyway!) and i have high hopes for this. What u should all be really concerned about it Lindeloff writing the last third of the film. Hopefully his work has been checked and rechecked before commiting to film. He really does suck big time.

JimmyThe Saint -> Re Glasgow (9/11/2012 10:17:57 AM)

I agree with that dude Martypants. It’s great to see the city I love and George Square in a film like that. With Batman, Cloud Atlas and apparently the new Fast Five movie with that babe from Haywire, Glasgow has become a major movie location and quite right too. They can take anything. Zombies running riot on the streets. Come ahead. Do your worse lol.

Mr Grizzly -> Hooonnnng! (9/11/2012 10:20:04 AM)

Did someone take the Transformers 3 trailer, swap the robots with CGI Zombies and that pratt from the Chanel ad?!

Dear Trailer editors - please stop using the Inception/Shutter Island foghorn, it's been done to death!

umer_ejaz -> (9/11/2012 10:21:09 AM)

Not too shabby for a movie costing $125m. It's trying to be I Am Legend. Probably won't make as much as that movie but doesn't look to shabby

420Phil -> Did they have to call it World War Z?? (9/11/2012 12:28:20 PM)

It has an undead theme, that seems to be about the only connection the film has with the book. Don't get me wrong, it looks like it could be an awesome zombie film. But when they said they were going to make a film of World War Z, I kinda thought they were going to make a film of World War Z.

If you mean by its trying to be a god awful film that bares little to no resemblance to the source material; that its taking a book that is filled with intelligent, satirical writing and turning it into what looks like just another souless, CGI action fest...then yes its trying to be exactly like I Am Legend; and sadly looks, at least from these early images, like its going to succeed admirably.

Given how much the original text utterly desimates the American dream, people and government I cannot say I am totally suprised. [:(]

So so disappointed with this...

seven28uk -> This is could be a good adaption (9/11/2012 1:16:11 PM)

Please will everyone stop going on about the CG zombies and how they should not have called it World War Z.
To adapt this book, which I too loved, word for word would not have made not much sense as a film, and would not have been exciting since it's more a series of short stories.
This take gives the viewer a though line and I feel deals with the concepts of the book, which is a zombie apocalypse on a world scale and how we would deal with it in terms of nations with armies.
The CG does not look as good as say Avatar but remember this did not cost as much and it's harder to recreate humans than it is to create aliens.
Personally I agree with the earlier comment comparing the zombies to ants and how they need to depict millions not thousands, this is how I imagined the Battle of Yonkers where the zombies climb over each over in waves.
I think we should give the story telling a chance and try to repress our now very high CGI standards.

Brendan Hayes -> Runing or Walking? (9/11/2012 1:45:31 PM)

Everything about the trailer looks quite good except for the zombies.They have GGd the hell out of it by the looks of things.The recent rewrites on this pic are also quite worrying.Personally for me I love the traditional slow walking zombies,in particular the walking dead series is amazing.The only person that did running zombies in a good way as Danny Boyle and Zach Snyder, I am Legend was Rubbish!.

Getbackers -> Will have to wait and see. (9/11/2012 1:56:46 PM)

The stuff I have seen in relation to this flim, looks amazing and stunning, I know people have complained about the title being World War Z, and the story changed. I not fussed about this as the book would of been hard to do as a film. however I just hoped in doing so has not taken away the intrigueness of the book and relation of events that are happening around the world at the time, which what made it a great read. I am looking forward to see this film ever since it was annonuced.

Bikerdre -> Curious (9/11/2012 2:09:55 PM)

Big fan of the book and most of the zombie movies and of course the Walking Dead. Shocked to see how the zombies are shown in the trailer, so overwhelming. How do you survive that? I will have to see the movie to find out. Bring it on.

Platz -> RE: Curious (9/11/2012 3:17:58 PM)

Looks like rubbish. How "28 days on steroids" and the title World War Z fit together is a mystery to me since only one of those titles has zombies in it. Fans of the book were not looking for a plodding adaptation of it, just something that slightly resembled it. Instead what we have are zombies attacking like a wave of "squids" in the Matrix. Absolute rubbish. At least to me Forster has once again proven that he should not be making big budget action flicks.

homesick alien -> BBRRrraaaaaiiinnnnnss.... really, where!? (9/11/2012 4:34:27 PM)

dare i ask what rating the film will get. scary to think it could well be a 12A, although at least I'll have one reason to hide behind the sofa

Silvio Mugabe -> Glasgow (9/11/2012 5:41:50 PM)

Glasgow looks amazing! They better not remove any of this!

Dalzium -> Duracel Zombies. (9/11/2012 6:42:09 PM)

MR Pitt said he'd stay true to the book yet he's went and made the fastest zombies i've ever scene. Their like rats or beetles, because they move so fast, it's like their possesed by demons, which then makes it another kind of film altogther. This completely baffles me, as it makes the zombies appear supernaturally evil in effort and not just primitive, seemingly mindless feeders. It reminds me of people that claim to have had near death experience's. Where by clinically deceased people have claimed to see huge mountains of naked, writhing souls/people, in the experiencer's term - hell. Why has MR Pitt done this? Is it purely for entertainment? This film should not be called waht it is.

durelius -> (9/11/2012 6:44:06 PM)

I've no idea on the original book or how zombies are portayed there but hell this looks cool, the zombies actually look like they are a major threat, they are fast and more importantly adaptive the way they are attacking that wall at the end, could be a real tension builder.

Whistler -> World War Z trailer (9/11/2012 7:02:50 PM)

It annoys me that they've gone for the running zombies when the very first thing Max Brooks makes clear in the Zombie Survival Guide is that ZOMBIES CAN'T RUN. I'll still give this a chance, but it's looking like a very shoddy adaptation.

Wild about Wilder -> RE: World War Z trailer (10/11/2012 10:11:48 AM)

Will go & see it just to see the BULLSHIT! way they get out of facing the wayyyyy overwhelming odds of millions of super fast zombies. (sure Snyder aint got anything to do with this?)
