Personally, I don't know any of her songs, but I do know of Florence Welch, whose voice is both amazing and utterly unbearable at the same time. I've actually left shops on the basis that I cannot put up with it, which I haven't done for any other artists.

Yes. I want to claw my eyes out when she's on. Why was she such a massive part of the jubilee and the closing ceremony? She ruins EVERYTHING. I hate her hair, I hate her genuinely awful voice. One of her songs comes on in work and it sounds like a cat dying, there is no other words, it doesn't even sound like nice cat dying.

I'm abit out of touch with Pop music and everytime I pick/see a newspaper there seems to be a new "star" every week.

I dont mind her one way or the other, i have to agree about florence welch though, anyone who thinks she can sing after hearing her live must be tone deaf.

Dunno about that. I'm fairly certain if I was having a lonely wank and she walked into my bedroom wearing suspenders then started telling me about all the women she's been down on it would enhance said wank tenfold.

Jessie J is insufferable, but I'd put money on Taylor Swift being worse. Actually, maybe an even tie.. either way they're both awful.

Edit: Oh and Rita Ora. I absolutely despise Rita Ora. And Pink! She has a strange cult following here in Australia and hearing even 5 seconds of one of her songs makes my skin crawl.

She's easily ignored, so I don't find her annoying. I just struggle to understand her love for those daft leotard things as she's built like my Uncle.

Agree about Pink especially when she sings "I'm still a rock star". You were never a rock star, merely the latest in a long line of generic manufactured pop tarts who have to dress sexily to distract from their boring run of the mill music.

I honestly don't mind Jessie J that much.  I don't really rate her as a live act and her apparent omnipresence is a bit yawnsome, but there's no doubt that she can write a mean pop tune.

Florence, on the other hand, I just don't get. I watched her performance at one of the summer's televised festivals and she was so off tune it was embarrassing.  If I ever feel the need to experience the Florence & The Machine sound, I reckon I'll just let a few owls loose in a wind chime shop.  Which would be more enjoyable visually too.

Florence just shouts, and it gets old v quickly, but there does seem to be an attempt to craft some meaningful music as opposed to bending over in tight clothes and grabbing her crotch to grab attention and mask her bland musical output a la Jessie J.

See, I don't mind Florence. I like a few of her songs, and have seen her live, and she is a really big performer, it sort of makes sense in that enviroment. (Though maybe she was having a good day beingintune-wise that day?)

Taylor Swift - she's probably got the potential to grow into something really interesting later on down the line. And she seems nice enough. Plus, We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together (Like, Ever) is sort of brilliant.

Rita Ora seems alright as well. I like a few of the songs she's done (the Borders lyric from Tinie Tempah in R.I.P is every shade of amazing) and she seems pretty down to earth.

Before you think I am just going to defend everyone - I'm not a fan of J-J-J-J-Jessie J. Her songs don't really do much for me and she's not that interesting. I did see a woman in town once who looked EXACTLY like her though, like properly doing that "look".

I don't like Pink either. CRAZY REBEL! Do some tunes.

I don't have anything in particular against Jessie J, though seeing her in a bodysuit bouncing on a throne with her foot in a pot was one of the most unintentionally hilarious and absurd things I've seen. I have no opinion whatsoever on Taylor Swift and Kia Ora or whoever the hell she is. Florence Welch can get fucked though, can't abide her. Her honking atonal foghorn voice cuts right through me all the way to the marrow. Her barefoot Kensington free-spirit hippy schtick is awful as well.

I quite like Pink though [:)]

Minaj, I'm still not sure about - I like Turn Me On, Pound the Alarm, Starships, Superbass etc, but her albums; the first is patchy, and the second is all over the fucking place. I don't really like her weird infantalising, her posturing to a pre-teen audience, and then complaining when people complain about the swearing in her records either. She's inconsistant on just about every level. And she's not as good as Azaelia Banks, ultimately.
