Post your comments on this article

JosteinAsk -> The Crow (4/10/2012 2:09:05 PM)

A handful of these characters could easily been swapped with Eric Draven....

Dr Science -> what about the westerns? (4/10/2012 2:11:08 PM)

Harmonica in Once Upon A Time in The West? William Munny in Unforgiven? The Lady in The Quick And The Dead? Mattie Ross in True Grit?

Gumba23 -> The Essential and the Vendetta (4/10/2012 3:01:31 PM)

The Count of Monte Christo
Edmond Dantes (Jim Caviezel most recently)
Probably one of the most patient avengers, as he spends 13 years in prison, planning a very sophisticated revenge.

V for Vendetta
V (Hugo Weaving)
Starts a full-scale revolution to mask his vendetta against the people who took away everything he had and conducted cruel bio-weapon experiments on him and others.

The Bantam Menace -> High Plains Drifter (4/10/2012 3:58:44 PM)

What about Clint's "Stranger" form High Plains Drifter?! A man so pissed off he comes back from the dead (maybe) or it's his brother he's avenging! He doesn't just get revenge on one person or a gang of people he gets it ON A WHOLE TOWN!!!!!!

Dan Brown -> Missing Additions (4/10/2012 4:50:41 PM)

.....MEMENTO! How could that not make it?!

The Skin I Live In was a pretty messed up de-construction of the revenge thriller too!

KobeNash1234 -> Missing Films (4/10/2012 5:01:06 PM)

Where the hell is TAKEN????????? Liam Neeson destroying 40 guys in equally and brilliantly violent ways

Dan Brown -> Missing Additions (4/10/2012 5:03:20 PM)

.....MEMENTO! How could that not make it?!

The Skin I Live In was a pretty messed up de-construction of the revenge thriller too!

Bill -> KHAAAAAAN!!!! (4/10/2012 6:50:33 PM)

You can't be quoting that old "Revenge is a dish best served cold" line in your article and miss out the mad-bad-mullet-meister of Ceti Alpha V

CambiMan -> What? (4/10/2012 7:22:36 PM)

Do this again and make it twenty with the absolute involvement of Liam Neeson in taken. It is a crime not to have him on this list with that amazing speech that he has.

pablo233 -> Revenge (4/10/2012 7:33:11 PM)

Tony Scott movie

TPM007 -> Bourne? (4/10/2012 11:35:05 PM)

Would have like to see Bourne on there, after all, it's kinda the reason he comes out of hiding for two films!

ChudMonkey -> RE: 19 Great Revenge Movie Characters (5/10/2012 7:22:27 AM)

The Woman......you wait a whole movie before she pounces but man, she dishes out some brutal revenge

Mr.Screen -> Umm and Where is Alex Murphy? (5/10/2012 8:06:07 AM)

The manner in which Robo deals with his own executors is violent in the extreme. With Both Emil and Boddicker having TWO very nasty run-ins with Murphy after they've murdered him (yes he bumps into Nash twice, but the first is played for laughs). He also makes life miserable for the everyday scum who had nothing to do with his murder (his way of dealing with potential rapists being a very comendable method). But seriously...Robocop is THE best revenge film of all time...and you didn't include it????

Porrohman -> RE: Umm and Where is Alex Murphy? (5/10/2012 12:36:02 PM)

Oh come on!! Most intimidating quote from Dead Mans Shoes is surely "You ya C***!!!!!!" [;)]

jimmyakey -> Where the hell is Mel? (5/10/2012 12:51:54 PM)

The fact that Payback is not on here has personally offended me

Hillsman -> RE: Where the hell is Mel? (5/10/2012 1:55:09 PM)

I donít know about you, but my top revenge movies would include:

Payback (absolutely no doubt)
Lethal Weapon 2
IP Man
The Crow
Last Man Standing
Hard Target
Bourne Supremacy
Rocky III
The Brave One
Road to Perdition
Fist of Legend
Enter the Dragon
Hard Boiled

ORSON KUBRICK -> FIST OF FURY (5/10/2012 2:10:51 PM)

Come guys give BRUCE LEE a Shout, even though Kill Bill is a homage!
Or his boy BRANDON LEE in the CROW!!

ORSON KUBRICK -> MEL GIBSON!!! (5/10/2012 2:14:50 PM)

jamieross00 -> Spoilers ftw (5/10/2012 3:38:40 PM)

I know this is a list of classic revenge movies and most people who watch a fair few films should have seen them all, but this article contains a HUUUUAAAGGEE!!!!! Dead Man's Shoes spoiler!! Fun list though, I'm watching Rolling Thunder and the brilliant Oldboy tonight.

jdfxxx -> Come on Empire! (5/10/2012 3:39:25 PM)

No THRILLER: THEY CALL HER ONE EYE; I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE; FEMALE PRISONER 701: SCORPION! Thanks for not including PAYBACK though because it's rubbish!!

guysalisbury -> Dead Man's Shoes - SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (5/10/2012 5:28:48 PM)

I've just noticed someone else mention this below and it needs to be repeated! If you have never seen Dead Man's Shoes do NOT read the synopsis of it in this feature!
Was a bit annoyed not to see Payback on here but you have got Point Blank which Payback was a re-make of so you are forgiven :) (PS. I spit on your grave is a great shout!)

danielthompson99 -> erm... (5/10/2012 6:49:11 PM)

I think what pissed Creasey (Man on Fire) off was the fact that he was suicidal when he took the job, looking after little Pita. She brought him back, gave him hope and a spark of new life. Then she was taken, and all of Mexico couldn't stand in his way.
Worthy additions Grindhouse classics (+remakes) The Last House on the Left (did I leave something in the microwave?) and I Spit on Your Grave (crows + bath + garden shears).
Also....Batman ????

thewalrus299 -> Where's Mel! (6/10/2012 9:46:18 AM)

Mel Gibson in Edge Of Darkness, also, Mel Gibson in Payback, also, Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2 and last but not least: Mel Gibson in Braveheart

HornetPrime -> Tut tut. (6/10/2012 10:06:10 AM)

Obviously the person who wrote this wasn't paying attention.
Casino Royale was a reboot, with a different Bond and a different Leiter. He's not supposed to be the same guy.

Max Krause -> no lt. Ripley???? (6/10/2012 1:03:29 PM)

Where the hell is lt. Ellen Ripley?

ste_robbo -> No Edmondo (6/10/2012 8:30:55 PM)

Errrrm.....No Edmond Dantes aka the count of monte cristo? One of the most iconic revenge characters?

Ciaran McNulty -> (7/10/2012 11:20:59 AM)

Count of Monte Cristo? Eric Draven? The dragon from Enter the Dragon? Darkman? The cast of Sleepers? Pumpkin Head? The Punisher(Tom Jane)? That girl who spat on those Graves? I wish this list had gone to a 100.
Also, is HornetPrime trolling with his post or is he genuinely an idiot?

samortan -> RE: (8/10/2012 11:26:15 AM)

Lovely one....

Amazing language you used....

dingo_safe -> Possible Additions? (8/10/2012 12:57:25 PM)

I'd agree that the count of monte cristo's omission suprised me. Thought maybe Desperado, Lucky Number Slevin and the Sting may have been included too...
