Arkturus -> (3/10/2012 11:53:49 AM)

Five very gorgeous ladies. Chris Evans is going to be one lucky b*stard.

markwaters -> Peggy Carter is not dead. (3/10/2012 12:10:43 PM)

Peggy isn't dead in that deleted scene. Cap thinks about phoning her.

You beat me to it! Slightly obvious error or what? There's also the fact that Joss Whedon said that he intended a scene where Steve Rogers (in the present day) encounters an aged Peggy - the scene wasn't filmed for Avengers but I think it's fair to assume that Peggy is still alive until proved otherwise. Anybody notice though that some of the actresses mentioned look a bit like Hayley Atwell? I just hope the character isn't something cheesy like Peggy's granddaughter!

jackcarter -> what about Billie Piper? (3/10/2012 12:32:30 PM)

it would make all kinds of sense

blindfold -> Atwell! (3/10/2012 12:32:30 PM)

Personally I think they should just get Atwell back to play the grandchild. Then you can really screw with Caps head. Poor bugger.

Kmadden2004 -> (3/10/2012 1:02:13 PM)

I heard there's an extra deleted scene that wasn't on the Avengers blu-ray where it was revealed that Peggy Carter was the female world council member played by Jenny Agutter.

Further to my earlier post, rumours elsewhere are suggesting that the love interest will be Sharon Carter, Peggy's niece. Apparently this is a character from the comics, but still sounds pretty cheesy to me! Surely there's other women in the world who'd be a sucker for Rogers's 40s gentleman charms? That waitress from Avengers was clearly up for it!

Ali Plumb -> My UTTER IDIOCY (3/10/2012 1:04:36 PM)

TOTALLY stuffed up the RETIRED thing.

Major brain fart, will go shoot myself. In my defence I was preparing for a Red Dwarf podcast chat and my brain was leaking.

Whistler -> (3/10/2012 1:13:30 PM)

I'd love to see Alison Brie do it (because I love her), but Emelia Clarke would be in keeping with the Game of Thrones connection to Cap, with Natalie Dormer appearing in The First Avenger.

cluts808 -> RE: Who Is Captain America 2's Female Lead? (3/10/2012 1:49:08 PM)

Alison Brie, I think she's great and she's already got an in with the directors. Also please don't let it be Jessica Brown Findlay I find so very annoynig, the only thing where I didn't mind her in was Black Mirror, she's easily the worse in Downton.

Well I think we all know where vad3r's vote is going...

I most certainly won't be voting for any of my favourite actresses. I hope those who I have no interest in get the part. Being the female lead/love interest in a superhero movie is a nail in the coffin. They're given nothing to do.
See: Katie Holmes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kate Bosworth, Malin Ackerman, Natalie Portman, Liv Tyler, Jennifer Connelly, Kristen Dunst, Emma Stone, Hayley Atwell, Blake Lively etc

I like a few of the above actresses and their respective superhero films, but their roles in the films were interchangeable and their career seems to have gone downwards since appearing in them.

*This would actually be a good idea for a thread to explore this issue further.

Nicky C -> This is not news. (3/10/2012 4:46:49 PM)

I have a shortlist of things in my fridge I might eat tonight, too. I doubt anyone gives a shit about that either. Cast the role first, then you've got a story. "A few chicks you don't care about might or might not get an undisclosed role in a movie you're not sweating over that's not out for about 19 months." Seriously, that's not news. Not even close.

Count Karnstein -> That bird in Avengers movie (3/10/2012 7:23:40 PM)

there's this pretty girl who was staring at him in Avengers after he saved her and a bunch of other people. Camera lingers on her, like she's significant. I assumed that she might be a later love interest in Captain America's next movie. Would make some kind of sense.

NateDrake007 -> (4/10/2012 11:22:20 AM)

Got to be the mother of dragons

NateDrake007 -> RE: That bird in Avengers movie (4/10/2012 11:44:51 AM)

In a deleted scene Captain America is having a coffee outstide this cafe and she is the waitress. Stan lee urges him to ask her out. Makes a lot more sense after that scene

Wild about Wilder -> RE: That bird in Avengers movie (5/10/2012 5:17:22 PM)

Had hoped that Atwell would return as a Blonde & play Peggy's niece S.H.I.E.L.D agent & love of Caps life Sharon Carter.

rich -> RE: That bird in Avengers movie (5/10/2012 5:38:17 PM)

The romance in Captain America was pretty unconvincing, and him visiting her in the present day would just be awkward. They're better off just carrying on with new characters.

danielthompson99 -> Imogen Poots ! (9/10/2012 6:06:45 PM)

Does no one else find this funny ?
