jonson -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (14/9/2013 10:42:07 AM)

While he's been found not guilty, and I don't believe for a minute he isn't, if I were him I'd want to just disappear for a few months and take stock.
Sure, he's got legal bills to pay, but all this talk of him jetting out to be in a reality show kind of pisses me off a bit.
I'm not a fan of celebrity shows anyway, but his family and friends - as well as him - have gone through hell in the last few years, it can't bear thinking about, but it all then seems bit false to be almost using his recent notoriety to make a quick buck off the back of it.
I suppose you can either run away and feel sorry for yourself or you deal with it head on.

I disagree there fella, I'm a Celebrity doesn't kick off until November, and I have read he is planning on visiting his brother in Australia and chilling out within the next couple of weeks. This guy has got legal bills to pay, and a decent 6 figure pay-day for 2 weeks in the jungle must seem hard to turn down! Good luck to him.

Maybe it did, but it wasn't by him. At the end of the day the jury didn't believe what the girl was saying.

It's probably because I despise the programme with a passion, and all who go on it, and the people who watch it [:D]
My mistake though, the way they were talking it was as if he was literally jumping on the first plane. It just seemed in bad taste, as if he was acting on his recent climb up the celebrity ladder (i.e. being splashed on the front page of the papers) You'd think he'd want to lead a bit of a quiet life for a few months, give his family some breathing space, but no, he'll play the doe-eyed innocent victim as advised by his agent until Bill Roach gets let off in January and it's his turn.
But again, it's more to do with my hatred of this kind of crap.

Sinatra -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (16/9/2013 11:55:53 AM)

Surely you must love Ant & Dec though? They are the best thing on that show. They spend all their time ripping the piss out of the muppets taking part! [:D]

I do like Ant and Dec, they have fantastic chemistry, but the whole programme annoys me. I look down my nose awfully at people who watch it, I'm a right snob when it comes to what I call scumbag telly. So there. Get back to your scumbag telly. [:D]

Sinatra -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (16/9/2013 12:41:26 PM)

Grumpy old sod...[:D]

Hood_Man -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (16/9/2013 1:06:59 PM)

I'm beginning to think we should try and petition to get Jonson on it [8D]

great_badir -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (16/9/2013 1:31:55 PM)

I would pay to see jonson eating balls and assholes.

You only need to watch him eating one of Leicester City's pies to do that...

great_badir -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (16/9/2013 1:43:49 PM)

I am laughing at the pies, however I know nothing of (and have no interest in) footballs.

I do know that the old Bristol Rovers stadium in Eastville changed from selling Peter's to Clark's pies some time in the late 80s, which caused an enormous upset locally.

But we're going WAY o/t now...

He has to get his beer money from somewhere...

jonson -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (16/9/2013 5:32:20 PM)

[:D] I pop out the office for 2 hours and get this much abuse.
Anyway, I don't eat the pies, I'm a veggie, not that there's any meat in them.

Back on topic. Jimmy Saville. I knew it, I fucking knew it.

Super Hans -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (22/9/2013 2:00:14 PM)

What's this about Jimmy Saville?

jonson -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (29/10/2013 8:01:56 AM)

One down, quite a few more to go.........

The problem is that if Michael Le Vell had committed suicide before his trial much the same could have been said about him and he has been exonerated and the evidence against him was shown to be very, very shaky (not that it has stopped people vandalising his car and threatening him after he was found not guilty). We don't really know what the evidence was against this chap to know if it was enough to actually convict him if it had gone to trial.

I know what you're saying, and if it wasn't for the fact he was a convicted sex offender anyway, I wouldn't have said it.
Nice try though.

Indeed, he was something of a career nonce with 20-odd convictions to his name. The only tragedy is he didn't top himself decades ago.

sanchia -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (1/11/2013 12:01:15 PM)

I must admit I was not aware of that.

Qwerty Norris -> RE: Allegations of Jimmy Saville (1/11/2013 7:09:49 PM)

Innocent until proven guilty of course, but if it's true, this certainly makes his interview on the Saville Panorama special somewhat hypocritical. [&:]

Beat me to it![:D]

Although of course, it'd be interesting to know details of the "historical sexual offences". For example, copping a feel back in a less enlightened decade (is that the kind of thing DLT has been accused of or have I got that wrong?) isn't good, but not exactly the industrial-scale noncing that Saville was seemingly up to.

Can remember seeing him open for Joanna Newsom a few years ago and have known his name for ages before that from the Led Zeppelin connection, so this is a weird one to see for me.

Folk singers. Not high on the baby-sitting list are they? [:D]
I mean, if Mulligan and O'Hare were real, they'd have been arrested years ago.

Ian Watkins - what a sick fuckwit.

His particular crimes take it to a level I really don't ever want to see. Attempted baby rape! [:-]

At the same time

quote:

Referring to two women standing alongside Watkins in the dock, Mr Clee said: "Both women sexually abused their own children and made them available to Watkins for him to abuse."

That is downright evil and I imagine the jury are glad they do not have to watch some of the images they apparently would if he had not changed his plea.

The words: "Fuck off and die, Watkins" spring readily to mind.
