Looks like you need to be better with Brand management.

Harley Quinn -> RE: Katy Perry Appreciation Society (2/10/2012 5:46:22 PM)

Katy Perry is one of my guilty pleasures I own both her albums and play them alot. California Girls is one of my fav getting ready to go out for the night songs. I also quite like Lady Gaga but think she needs to stop with the kooky clothes and let her music speak for it's self. Madonna I was a mad fan of her's in the 80's (what girl wasn't?) and have seen her live. Her recent stuff I wouldn't even listen to.

On the subject of Russell Brand I don't like him as a actor or as a stand up much. But before he moved to the States he lived near my Mum and I saw he alot to the point where you do that nod/hi thing with people you see so much. I've seen him be approached by people wanting autographs and pictures and his always been nothing but polite and lovely to them. I once saw him be approached while he was loading his car with shopping. He asked them if they could wait one minute while he finished and then he'd give them as much time as they liked. Compare that to Mel C who screamed and shouted at two little girls at the height of Spice Girls fame who approached her for an autograph. My point he has always come across as a top bloke on the many occasions I've seen him in public and interacting with people.

We'll agree to disagree, common thought is that Brand used Perry to gain fame and further his own career. Then dump her and be a talking point once again. Which he successfully did.
A man who has slept with thousands of women is not a man who looks to settle down and marry in his 30s.

I honestly can't believe I'm actually going to engage with you rather than being amused at watching people wasting time and energy retorting to your nonsense but trying to make out that he's a cheater because he slept with a load of girls when he was single is idiotic even on the vad3r scale of bullshit.

Single how? He could have been in multiple relationships and had one night stands with girls on the side.

Why would he when he had sex on tap?

He probably couldve cheated with any number of women. Doesnt mean he did. I'd have to read his books again, but I dont recall any specifics of his relationships, and I dont recall him mentioning any relationships that he had where he cheated. The man was very open about all aspects of his life in his books, so Id be surprised if he wouldnt mention it if it happened.

Last Friday night
Yeah, we danced on table tops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed but I forgot

Last Friday night
Yeah, we maxed our credit cards
And got kicked out of the bar
So we hit the boulevard

Last Friday night
We went streaking in the park
Skinny dipping in the dark
Then had a ménage à trois

Last Friday night
Yeah I think we broke the law
Always say we're gonna stop
This Friday night
Do it all again

You make me feel
Like I'm livin' a
Teenage dream
The way you turn me on
I can't sleep
Let's run away and
Don't ever look back,
Don't ever look back

My heart stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance and
Don't ever look back,
Don't ever look back

Brie has the best in film, Perry the best in music. I'd happily sit on their laps whilst they take turns breastfeeding me.

All the shite about Brand? That was a load of shit.

The creepy breast feed comment, that was a load of creepy shit.

Suggestions that Perry was somehoe on par with Madonna when she was at her very best, that was a load of shit. Although in fairness, I dont know if that was you talking shit or someone else talking shit. But there has definately been plenty of shit from you in this thread, and not even the pictures and gifs of Perry looking stunning can offset that.

As far as an 'Appreciation Thread' style post, I will say that Hot and Cold was on one of Virgin's music on demand playlists earlier and that's a pretty good pop song too. I'll take Perry's bubblegum pop bollocks over anything by Rihanna, fucking LMFAO, fucking Ed Sheeran, fucking One Direction, fucking Adele, fucking Rizzle Kicks, fucking Professor Green, fucking Robbie Williams or any number of other pop acts, any fucking day of the week.

Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
(you) You don't really want to stay, no
(but you) But you don't really want to go-o
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down

We used to be
Just like twins
So in sync
The same energy
Now's a dead battery
Used to laugh bout nothing
Now you're plain boring

I should know that
You're not gonna change

vad3r -> RE: Katy Perry Appreciation Society (3/10/2012 1:36:03 PM)

Fun facts: Did you know Katy Perry can play the guitar just as well as sing? She can also play the piano too. Did you know she was singing in a church between the ages of 9 and 17? Here's her signature:

[image]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8e/KATY%27S_signature.svg/644px-KATY%27S_signature.svg.png[/image]

porntrooper -> RE: Katy Perry Appreciation Society (3/10/2012 1:38:33 PM)

See Vad3r, I can accept that Hot or Cold is a pretty good pop song. However, it doesn't really have good lyrics does it? I'm reading that you just posted and it's pretty terrible, it's only when added to the catchy tune and with Perry's vocals that it becomes a decent example of bubblegum pop bollocks. So, I have to ask, do you generally listen (or read) any of these lyrics and think 'yea, that's really good writing'? And you gain something from those words? Cos for me, it's in and out, it has no real meaning and no real weight, it's just pop lyrics and it's a catchy tune, I cant see how anyone would gain anything from them other than as a decent pop song to sing along to. So, what do you get from the reproduction of song lyrics in so many posts? Or what do you hope others to get from it? Or is it just, as I suspect, a big fucking wind up?

Why am I even asking??

vad3r -> RE: Katy Perry Appreciation Society (3/10/2012 1:47:50 PM)

I don't really want to interact with you. You're just a very angry, aggressive man. It's either 'bollocks this' 'shite that' 'F- this' 'shit' etc. I post Katy Perry's lyrics and pictures because I like them. I also like Radiohead and The Smiths.

It's so rare finding a thread these days that doesn't descend into hate and venom.

Harley Quinn -> RE: Katy Perry Appreciation Society (3/10/2012 1:53:48 PM)

Porntrooper isn't aggressive, his asking valid questions (not that he needs me defending him), the clue of what his doing is in the title it's a discussion board. His asking questions. You can either answer him and continue the discussion or continue posting pictures and lyrics negating your point even further. I suspect you'll go for the latter.

Fluke Skywalker -> RE: Katy Perry Appreciation Society (3/10/2012 1:57:00 PM)

I rate her mainly for the catchiness of the tunes, lyrically I'd say she's nothing special at all but the music as pop goes is pretty good. My fav tune is probably ET - as for that pic above if I were there I'd tickle her in the ribs and try and put her off [8D]

What is there to answer? He's asking me whether I really like Katy Perry's lyrics or if it's just a wind up. Why would I like an artists music if I didn't like their lyrics?

Trust me, I'm not angry. I think I've only ever been moved to anger twice on the forums and it wasn't over something as trivial as fucking Katy Perry. I also wouldn't consider my posts aggressive. Unless you're simply referring to the fact there are swear words dotted around? Swearing that isn't aimed at anyone and is hardly aggressive.

The hate and venom was from you, towards Brand. I, and a few others, pulled you on it and you couldnt respond cos you were either a) doing it on the wind up, or b) you had nothing to respond with as the hate and venom was born of nothing other than a dislike for the man with no real evidence to back up claims he was somehow using Katy Perry. Or c) a combination of a) and b). I've made a few comments about her music, this is after all a thread about her music, and they've all been pretty positive I'd say, so hardly the hate and venom you seem to think it is. In a thread about her music I think it's fair game to critique her lyrics, especially if youre going to constantly post them for others to read. The lyrics are simplistic (not always a bad thing in music) and pretty shallow in my view, they dont stand up as lyrics that really work in written form, they're essentially carried by the song and the vocal, on their own they're pretty poor. You post them because you like them, fair enough, but dont get your fucking knickers in a twist if someone takes them to task. Note that wasn't takes you to task, before you get all sensitive again....

The bold are questions all asked by Porntrooper which you have ignored instead you called him names, criticised his swearing in posts and the complained that threads descend into hate and venom. I've been here along time and aside from rare occasion and the odd mad thread this is generally an easy going friendly place.

The question you may want to ask yourself is it your posting style that winds people up? You ask for a debate and then when people disagree you fill a thread with pictures, song lyrics and cry foul when people call you up on it.
