I'm not a fan of her music, but she's clearly a gorgeous woman and she seems like a fun person to be around with.

In interviews most musicians/songwriters act as if their job is a real chore, but she comes across like she enjoys it. Fair play to her.

EDIT: I should also add that I think she can sing, but again the music isn't very good.

I think she's the best female pop star of recent years operating in a pretty tough market with about a million rivals. Sexy and has a personality - shits all over the likes of Lady Gaga whose mediocre songs are glossed over by her fashion choices.

I actually disagree. I'm not much of a fan of Lady Gaga but I think her music destroys Perry's, and Perry is hardly short of an outrageous costume choice or two herself. From what I've seen of Gaga in interviews she's not short of character either, and she seems much drier, more self-aware and self-deprecating than the bubble-headed earnestness of Perry. I'd argue that Perry's mediocre songs and robotic dance moves are glossed over by her bewbs, tbh. They are spectacular tho.

Katy Perry is manufactured to fuck. Her candyapple and pastel Disney cartoon costumes and hairdos are just as contrived as anything Gaga does. It's just not as imaginative.

I don't see any appeal that Gaga has. Unique does not = good (Jedward are unique). I find her, her music, her voice, her interviews, her live shows, her fans and everything else about her annoying, fake and crap.

Teenage Dream is about as perfect a pop album you can get.

I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga's more outrageous forms of "expression" or whatever, and I probably dislike as many songs of hers as I do like, but when she hits she can knock a pop tune out of the park like few others out there at the moment. To call her talentless is tripe.

I haven't heard a song by Katy Perry that comes close to Laga Gaga's best.

My biggest problem with Katy Perry is that she markets herself to a young girl audience and quite a few of her lyrics are wholly inappropriate for that demographic.

Hot N Cold isn't even in her top 10 best songs. Gaga could never dream of making songs like Firework, The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night and many more.

She also doesn't have men dry humping her during performances, which almost every other pop act does.

That link is irrelevant and doesn't make a point. Those ''instructions'' are written by an artists management and security team. Every big celebrity has a strict team of people around them to cater to their wellbeing. She's not an exception and nothing on there is outside of standard protocol.
As for the 'annoying', I disagree. Most people who aren't even fans of her music will agree that she's humble, down to earth and loves performing for her fans. She was great at hosting SNL recently and showed how likeable and charismatic she is.

My favourite pop stars are the nerds who actually put these songs together. The writers, studio engineers, production teams etc. Rather than the bints who warble over them.

Gaga is better, absolutely. Because the team that write her songs for her are better than the team that write the songs for Perry.
